I got know about local guides through Google mapathon contest in 2014. Since then I became a active contributor to the local guide community. Where ever I go either to a new place or previously visited, I do check the Google maps and gather more information and do share my experience.
It really helped me a lot and my friends also suprised to the updated information through maps.
Google is providing a nice platform to access so much information and share their experiences.
By conducting the local guide summits, it is even encouraging idea of one global family. Hope more similar events will be organised to continue the spirit
