Exploring in and around Mehrauli

Mehrauli:

The treasure trove of historic sights to satisfy the spirit , culinary destinations to satisfy the appetite.From the heart of Qutub complex to the nearby Mehrauli Archaeological Park, a day spent in this neighbourhood is sure to be unforgettable.

Start your journey at the Qutab Minar and explore the richness of the area that houses this iconic minaret.

If furniture is what you are after, the roadside shops in Chhatarpur offer plenty of opportunities to stock up.

End your evening with dinner at one of the restaurants around Mehrauli, with a view of the Qutub Minar in the distance, to round off a perfect day.

 

To reach there:

By Metro : Yellow Line to Chhatarpur & Qutub Minar metro station.

By Road: It is 30 minutes drive from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

 

Shop:

Mehrauli, which was once the seat of the Mughal invasion is now a bustling fashion hotspot with numerous top Indian designer stores. You will find all that you need and

more.

Must Do:

  • In Mehrauli, experience the scattered relics of the Mughal dynasty and the many kingdoms and sultanes,while you piece together the stories of their reign. Now a UNESCO world heritage site, the Qutub MInar is the obvious place to start the journey.
  • Don't miss out on the lesser known sites such as the 1500 year old Iron Pillar.
  • A short walk away from the Qutub Minar complex is The Mehrauli Archaeological Park. Relics of Delhi's colourful history are strewn across this park. These includes the Jamali-Kamali, Metcalfe House.
  • Garden of Five Senses is a must visit destination with an array of activities, inviting communal interaction and exploration.
  • Lado Sarai has been dubbed New Delhi's high street of art.
