Dipshikha METI School, The Handmade School in Dinajpur, Bangladesh.

The METI Handmade School, a primary school for Tribal/Privileged students located in Rudrapur in Dinajpur district of Bangladesh, was built with the assistance of local craftsmen making use of traditional materials, primarily mud and bamboo. An example of echo friendly sustainable architecture, the project received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2007. An Australian architect Anna has proven how the Bangladeshi local products bamboo and mud could be utilize in such a nice way.

If you want to visit this wonderful place, first you need to take permission from Dipshikha METI Authority, then you can go by bus or train from Dhaka. Bus available in Gabtoli/Kollyanpur Bus stand, Dhaka to Dinajpur bus fare A/C-1200, and Non-A/C 600, Train fare 400-700(approximately). By CNG/ Private car you can go from Dinajpur city to Dipshikha METI School, in this case you will need to spend 800-1200 BD Taka. On the way to the school be sure to see the beauty of the green village.
