'Comilla Zilla School' is One of the oldest Schools of Bangladesh and it's the most renowned and one of the well-reputed government Schools of Bangladesh. Among all the 'Zilla Schools' of Bangladesh, It is one of the best of them. And if you make a list of your own about the establishment year of the Schools of Bangladesh, then 'Comilla Zilla School' will be placed as number four or number five.
The School was established by an Englishman named Henry George Leicester in July 20, 1837. The School was named as 'Comilla Government School' then. After some years, the school was been named as 'Comilla Zilla School'. The School was set up by the government of British India for teaching English literature and Science.
The School is situated at Kandirpar, the Heart of the City-Comilla along with carrying it's land about 5.69 acres. The eye-soothing environment of this School enamors almost everyone who pay a visit to this School. Also, the School is surrounded by one of the largest ponds of Bangladesh-Dharmasagar on one side and on the other side, the beautiful Stadium of Comilla circumambients the School.
Every year, a very hard and competitive admission test is held among a large amount of students who are willing to study here and a few of them get chance to study here.
The School has a very good reputation for it's excellence on study and besides extra-curricular activity also. The main thing that the School focuses not to build up only an Educated person but also to build up a Good Human.
The School has very good library facilities, laboratory facilities and multimedia classrooms also for the betterment of Study. Besides these, a basketball ground, a large auditorium, a beautiful mosque, Shaheed Minar, a workshop, a computer lab and a boys hostel is available here in this School. And most importantly, a large playground takes it's place at the centre of this School, which makes the environment of this School more beautiful.
Almost every year, the School stood first in the Comilla Board for it's excellent result on PEC/JSC/SSC exam.
