Can we report or flag someone that is not sincere in LG?

Hi all,

Last week, a friend told me that he and his friend actually to get the points for the 1 TB storage, they find all Petrol Stations or 7-11 outlets to either edit their 24hours operations or copy paste te same 1 liner remarks.

I was shocked that someone would actually do that.

Editing the operation hours is still ok because it is legit, but copy paste 1 liner reviews? 

Can we report them or flag them? 

Do we need to do this? Local Guide Police hahahaha

There are a lot of checks in place to ensure high-quality and non-spammy contributions on Google Maps, but sometimes, we may miss a contribution or two. If you find a review or photo that you think violates our policies, you can use the 'flag as inappropriate' icon next to the contribution. A team of specialists will then check if it violates any of our policies (https://goo.gl/dsVNTC and https://goo.gl/dpAf4W) and will take appropriate action. In this case, since you've found a specific user, I will send you a private message with instructions on how to report this specific user so our team can look into this person's account and take any appropriate action, though we won't be able to share the final decision as we respect everyone's privacy.

I'm facing the same type of Contributors in Egypt

As the following contributor only writes the category of the place in the review

to gain more than 900 points !

as you can see he wrote (in Arabic)

مقهى = Cafe

مطعم = restaurant

accordingly I reported the reviews but don't know how to report the user .. and what should happen next !

@TraciC Can you share the instructions that you sent on the private message? Is it a new process compared the usual for reporting abusers? (send email to LG support)

@iyudhi For the time being, we are asking people to email us the Maps profile URL of the potentially spammy/policy violator's account. As we only give out the email address to troubleshoot specific cases, we are communicating that via private message. 🙂

As you're already aware of the email address, feel free to send an email directly to the team and if that process changes, we'll be in touch. Regarding the private message system, if you go to your photo at the top right corner and scroll down to the envelope icon, you can send messages from there. That's how we will message people not aware of the process, as long as they have private messages enabled, of course.

I came across a LG who posts racist and homophobic content.

I reported each individual post some weeks ago but all the LG's posts are still live.

What more can I do?
