BUG: Portrait mode photos from iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 11.3 fail

Has anyone been able to upload true portrait mode photos the past few days? I have deleted and reinstalled google maps app.  I have updated to 11.3 iOS.  When I take a portrait mode photo and then try to upload it, it:

-progress bar moves to 99%

-progress bar then drops back to 10%

-this cycles for a few minutes

-receive the “Error with your upload”

I can replicate this over and over now that I know what was going on.  Before, I would upload 10 photos with 1 being portrait and it would never finish !  So frustrating.

I have been uploading portrait mode photos for several months with no problem.

any ideas?

Re: BUG: Portrait mode photos from iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 11.3 fail

Hi,

This issue is very much like this other thread:

https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/Known-Issue-Google-Maps-3-15-18/m-p/688564

I would like to revisit this and can anyone else with an iPhone + Portrait mode + iOS 11.3 can upload to a point within google maps?

Re: Unable to upload photos using Google Maps app on Iphone

Hi, This issue still exists as of March 30th. I have pinpointed the issue to Portrait mode (also HDR mode). If you just upload standard iPhone photos it will work. https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/BUG-Portrait-mode-photos-from-iPhone-8-Plus...

Sorry I meant this issue is very closely related to this other topic:  https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Feedback-and-Feature-Requests/Unable-to-upload-photos-using-Go...

Man this is an annoying issue.  If you bring the photos into another program and save them as JPG it will upload, but who wants to do that.  I love taking photos of food in portrait mode.  The pics look great.  I hope there is a solution to this sometime soon!!!  I have some dope ass photos I want to share and I don't want to upload to a computer, open and photoshop, save.......bla bla bla.
