Marking Duplicates - Will We Now Get An Email After Review?

I noticed the new pop up after making an edit says:

Thanks for improving Google Maps!

You'll get an email when your suggestion is reviewed

However thus far since map editing began, marking a duplicate (unlike other edits) has never generated an email upon review. This is somewhat of a bugbear I've mentioned before because it means you have no idea if your report is being acted on - nor do you know if you'll get a point for it (debate rages on...)

So has the duplicate review system changed, or is this pop up being generated/received in error?

Hi @Pea,

I also reported a duplicate today.  Will post update here.

Hope you remember the discussion we had at the Level 5 board regarding Earning Points for Marking Duplicates.  There is an update that things are changing, thus I hope what we are seeing  today is part of that planned change.

Hi @Pea. As @YK1001 said, there are some things in the pipeline for duplicates. I don't have any more info in this precise moment about what you're asking, but I'll investigate.

Re: Marking Duplicates - Will We Now Get An Email After Review?

Hi @LuisRG

We are still getting the pop up "Thanks for improving Google Maps!" when marking duplicates. This is misleading because it also says: "You'll get an email when your suggestion is reviewed"

Unlike other types of edits, there is no email feedback for duplicate marking (unless no dups have been reviewed for the last six weeks?)
