Mail delay occurred.

Hello Local Guides Team,

In these few days there has been a long delay in delivering mail from local guides connect.
I do not know if it is a Gmail problem or a lithium problem, but would you please investigate this symptom?

Mail delay 4 hours in this case.

It's been taking around six hours after an event on Connect to be reflected in my Gmail account. This first happened several weeks back and then started again a few days ago

I also noticed it yesterday but today it seems to be almost instant again. Maybe it's also due to the traffic on LGC (and the mail server not sending out too many emails at once or within a short period of time) as that might trigger some spam alerts in some email providers or even servers they go through on their way.

But, as we know connect has 200K+ users and posted frequently by many users. So we need solution for mail delivery.

I was just contemplating on the possible reasons, @backy0175L. I neither have the proper knowledge nor the powers on this board to find or implement solutions. It's good that you brought the issue up and it seems that at least two of us can confirm some similar behaviour so hopefully Google professionals will look into the problem and find the fix.

I checked mail delivery delay in past three months. It seems increasing number of mails since mid March, but no relation was found between number of mails and delivery delay.
