#LetsGuide others!

Former Google Contributor

There are a million ways to guide. That’s why we’re launching #LetsGuide, a new celebration of the community’s passions. It’s your chance to share what inspires you and to make connections with other Local Guides who share your interests.

To start, here’s a simple question: Who will you guide today?

Maybe you share accessibility info to guide people who use wheelchairs. Maybe you create lists to guide vegetarians to restaurants they’ll love. Maybe you’re into taking photos of places to help families with kids (or pets!) know where to go. If that sounds like you, you’ll love @AnnaDickson's new post about how to spotlight kid-friendly places on Google Maps. It’s the first of many tips posts we’ll be sharing this month to help everyone discover and explore their own unique ways to share knowledge.

We want to hear about the topics, themes, and places that inspire you to guide others. Tell us on social with #LetsGuide, or create a post here on Connect to talk about one of your guiding passions. We’ll be sharing some of our favorite contributions on our channels (including Twitter, Facebook, and Google+).

Hi

Thanks for sharing the insight on #Lets Guide. I would love to participate as per the knowledge what I have for a certain location regarding culture, food etc.

I want to help people discover a city in just one day.

I know you can't see everything on a single day but if you only got that amount of time, what would you do? How many times has it happened to you before?

So far I've made 5 guides about it, but I wanna keep adding places.

Great idea @LawrenceNYC.

I'd like to suggest the location mentioned too for easier reference. So for example #LetsGuide Bali Vegetarian Restaurants or #LetsGuide Bandung Mosques etc.

Bali Local Guides contribute to give back to the community.
Good idea! I've already added! #LetsGuide One day in Cinqueterre! (and so forth)

hi bro. tks for shared !

Level 6

One of my favorite things about local guides is getting to comment on accesability. Someone in my family is handicapped and it's ridiculous that, for example, she may have to wait to use a restroom for a few hours because there is no wheelchair accesability. This is the  first step to a revoloution!

Level 6

wow, this sure gave me perspective on being a local guide. thanks!

Level 8

This could be a lot of fun. In addition to the kid friendly spots and wheelchair accessable locations, we would help figure out "it" spots or what locations are best viewed at night, etc.

Very interesting....

I remember noticing years ago it was difficult to search for play parks on maps when I was looking for somewhere to take my son but didn't think to do anything about it then.

Fast forward to now 2018 and a friend introduces me to Local Guides 😍

As I started to find my way around it and build up some reviews, I released there's still a large amount of local playgrounds not on the map (at least where I live) and so I started to add them! #Addicted

Since getting involved as a local guide it's been rewarding to know I might be helping other people, especially parents and guardians by added all the little parks and playgrounds I know or find as I travel about.

Fantastic.

My topic of choice is mainly about customer service, I I've in the UK and it seems that alot of public places have lost there customer service touch and there for I like to fill in the blanks for people as easily 9/10 these places require a token of payment and it' good to know who and where appreciate you and your custom as one moody cashier or upset waitress and make or break your day.

Level 8

I enjoy a lot in helping millions of people to make right decisions in terms of travel, lodging, arrangments, food, health and safety. Contributing in Google maps, translate community and in Google Crowd Source is really a very much fun and rewarding.

The most inspiring thing for me to this point is the ability to add new places to the map😊  My favorite list is "new discoveries". There's nothing quite like filling in the gaps for all to enjoy and utilize. Thank you so much Google for the opportunity to be a part of something.

Very nice note. Thanks for inspiring us. I would love to guide everyone by sharing my experiences on the maps so that no one gets wrong info.

I agree. That is the best thing about LG. So if the guiding spills over into other avenues I would be all for it. Let me know how I can help. Anytime...

We should help others as a human it's our duty to find out how we can help someone & we should guid people so they can solve their problems

Level 7

Tell me what do you like to list from my country, Panamá, and I will list.  May be about a topic (beaches, restaurants, etc.)

Level 6

That's good idea👍so inspiring @LawrenceNYC thank you😉

Hey guys.. I am Moofaj from Srilanka. I am just 24 who love to travel the places. I take photos wherever i go whatever i see. Rather sharing my photos to myself, i thought to share the photos to the people who love to visit there before and also to leave the valuable reviews which help the people to understand the situation of the people all over the world.

i have been contributing to the community as a volunteer. But I never felt like a volunteer because of the way the google appreciates me on every movement i make.

thank you very much google for motivating me to move further and further.

That's the idea Mr. @LawrenceNYC

I mean, what and how can I do to help someone. As I described recentely, Google Maps was my save and only guide on Rio. That's very serious.

Ideally, to be a source of save and correct informations for someone else that do not the how to go to one destination are complex and, always will need the engagement of local habitants that are able to inform all day and night long.

Appreciate your explanations.

I used to travel to unexplored places and capture the landmarks of villages, towns especially closer to tourist spots  and the available facilities over there - such as nearby Restaurant, Lodges, Banks ATMs picnic spots. The photos will speak much more than the words or descriptions.
I have, on my tours, trekked by walk to several places and taken photographs of amazing Natural Scenes that will inspire even the native people who are not aware of such places available for economical tours.
