I consider myself lucky, because after joining this forum I have got motivation to analyse phoytographs in a more meaningful manner. Certainly, you are one of the great motivators for me, and therefore, thankful to you all. Regards.
Hi dear @PaulPavlinovich
many months ago I saw a film that National Geography filmed it about Alex Honnold (Free Solo), and in that film announced Alex Honnold is the first person that climb El captain free and solo.
Yes @PaulPavlinovich , definitely will try to incorporate a trip before or after connect Live if I will be accepted! Fall in the United States sounds lovely to me! Thanks for the wonderful post.
Thanks for the kind words @shantanu-kaizen it is humbling to know that I impact you tht way
That is interesting @Rezgar googling finds quite a few people, I wonder if perhaps he tackled one of the really hard routes free climb? Maybe The Nose for example? I’ll do some checking - in any case it is an interesting story of a brave person - thanks for mentioning him. Quite a few people are killed each year climbing in Yosemite. Achieving passion means taking risks.
@Hadasul there are lots of other places I recommend - I will be making a series of posts on the path to November (whether I get to go or not :). While I did live in the Bay Area (Oakland and Berkeley) for a few years I will post from a tourists perspective.
If I can say anything about visiting Yosemite before the conference. “It was one of my best experiences to date”.
And the thing that really made it as @AnuradhaP so rightly put. I went with other people from the LG conference. And so made a group of friends for life!
I now talk to the team Yosemite group most days. Sharing everything Google. All because one of the most beautiful experiences you can go on…
I was thinking that last night @PaulPavlinovich they have mentioned Park cafes and lodgings which is just right for me as I like somewhere I can get breakfast or just a coffee after sleeping in lodgings.
I remember now too they have the tour bus through the park.
I like walking but not hiking. I was going to look at the prices
There are different kinds of lodgings available ranging from tent camping, to RV sites, to back packer accommodation through to a five star hotel @Kol-Colleen_2018
Only get your information from the US National Parks Service website except for the hotel, that has its own site. There are loads of scam sites covering Yosemite so be careful.
Thank you so much @PaulPavlinovich for the info about where to book hotel accommodation at Yosemite. I was looking at the cheapest accommodation yesterday and you are exactly right about the types of accommodation available.
Which is why I mentioned having to think about this trip another time as I just want to get to Google Headquarters’ campus and then return to London as I have to recharge my batteries for work. I suggested to a childhood friend that she should stay more than 4 days if I got the invite, so an artist friend told her what she could do for the 2 weeks but booking a holiday for 2 weeks especially near Christmas is difficult.
I really appreciated the info and now Yosemite national park is my no.1 place to visit next. Your photos really make me think of the place to go to as soon as I can!
October/November is a good time to go to Yosemite @Kol-Colleen_2018 Summer is over, the kids are all in school, the parents back at work and the valley is less crowded. Its gorgeous weather during the day, very cold at night but without snow.
Mind you, the weather isn’t all that predictable, it is summer there now and I read a bulletin from the National Parks Service only last week that Tioga Pass and Glacier Point roads were closed again due to snow.
