What is the problem on maps ?

dear @MortenCopenhagen right now, I think there is a really big problem in maps. This content has been removed due to sharing credit card information. As you can see, the blocking of nature photos is ridiculous. Where is the credit card here? I don’t know how we can send them to google moderators, but I hope they read what we wrote here. I can’t comment on many places on my trip.

Hi @Gezendunyali

I love Annecy. I have been there 3 times to fly my Paraglider

Kindly share screenshots of the messages you got about this being removed for sharing credit card info. Was it in the app, via email, or both?

Were you able to appeal for those particular photos?

Cheers

Morten

Hey @MortenCopenhagen It’s a really great place. I never shared private information, but now the comment has been removed and the objection is not accepted. It says dozens of comments like this are being blocked. I guess I won’t be commenting for a while. I’m writing here especially, maybe google map workers can see this.i can only laugh

@Gezendunyali

I really would like you to share a few screenshots about your issue. I’m preparing some posts and since I don’t see such messages about hidden contributions your help would be appreciated by a lot. Thanks.

You can PM them to me or I can PM you my email, if you don’t mind,

Cheers

Morten

@MortenCopenhagen Of course, we are trying to solve the problems here. I always want to support. I can send you a few of the comments that are not accepted as a message. I will send them to you on Instagram.

During last week, I spent a lot of time to find and “clean” refused reviews, which worked quickly for most but one, by removing images and checking for duplicates or deleting and posting again with the same(!) text.

The last one I finally fixed (hopefully), by first appealing several times without any success or giving me any explanation, than by deleting the comment and adding again phrase by phrase, word by word.

The original comment was:

(The remaining part of the comment is not relevant)

Finally, after many trials I found the culprit: “Kartoffel-Chips” and solved it be removing “Kartoffel”. Now, I ask myself, what is wrong with this expression? Furthermore, why I didn’t get any hint in the first place?

P.S. Getting more curious about it, I replaced “Kartoffel-Chips” with “Kartoffelchips” … and it worked! :joy:

I can not explain this, @WilfriedB .

Maybe when translated into English it has a different meaning. And this might trigger the spamfilter.

But sharing your finding is highly appreciated. Maybe one day we will understand or Google Maps gets the spamfilter better tuned to let authentic reviews through the filter.

Cheers

the translation was always my first thought, however in this case it is only the hyphen. Changing “Kartoffel-Chips” to “Kartoffelchips” works fine. I discovered this, by searching Wikipedia for a synonym of “Kartoffel-Chips” and realized, they wrote it as a single word.

Anyway, the biggest problem is the fact that we are just left in the dark. “Something is wrong! Find out yourself what it is.”

Maybe one suggestion from this experience.

Before posting any review, copy the text to clipboard and keep it locally. If it is refused, try to post it again sentence by sentence!

@Annaelisa gute Idee, vielen Dank!

@MortenCopenhagen ,@Gezendunyali e a tutti naturalmente Buona Domenica (almeno qui in Italia oggi è Domenica) :joy: .
