Vacation in Lagos - Ewaade's Perspective

:grinning:

Thank you so much, my dear. You are one of the people who can make me blush so effortlessly.

Since I put a tag option you can use that one. These apartments don’t advertise. However, there are Agents who help in securing this. But, when coming, all you need to do is let me know in advance. @sophie_fusion

Hmmm Ewaade’s perspective hey! And Adamski et al you’ve been warned, no teasing! OK no teasing then ;-). Will I come with you, you asked? well before I can answer let me raise a few things. You seemed to have covered, or should I say crammed, quite a lot in just one week but then again you did mention that mass is only 15- 30 minutes in Nigeria!! I’m struggling to imagine how long the sermons are.I can understand how when thinking of Lagos, many people would think of endless stress, but possibly non-Nigerians might also think of safety or lack thereof, after all wasn’t Lagos once named as the world’s most dangerous city? But in your reply to @SilvyC you said “Lagos is one of the safest places in Nigeria”. Anyway I know it wouldn’t be a problem during this weekly vacation proposition, asI would be safe with my bodyguard @Ewaade_3A right? Well perhaps but not on a kayak, no way :joy:

Yes I did this in a few countries including Portugal, Spain and Poland, an apartment instead of a hotel can make good economic sense but in these countries they were not and did not need to be gated! Would somewhere near Meia Praia be OK? However, the Grand Inagbe Resort looks interesting but don’t they like trees there? Perhaps Badagry is a better choice and I can see why you like Badagry, I mean you are jumping with joy about this place! Well, jumping all over the place so I wonder what caused that? Was it the waffles or the breaded chicken? Perhaps it was the Ofada sauce? There’s definitely something that I would need to avoid there  However, I do like the sound of Inagbe Grand Resorts and Leisure.

One thing that I must say is that being Nigeria’s most populous city, I always had the impression that there was a lot of poverty in Lagos so your post has given me a totally different perspective! Also, you mentioned gas stations a few times so am I right to assume that during this vacation we avoid the VW Danfos?

Putting everything I said above aside, you are a great ambassador for Nigeria Ewaade. Your enthusiasm always shines through whenever I read anything you’ve written about your country so if I were to visit Nigeria I would only call on you

I haven’t seen the person who will resolve our differences today :expressionless:

Go and call your best Friends because I am about to pay you back in kind.

Do you know Adamski too  :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: :ok_hand: ?

  • Weekday Masses are a Minimum of 30 minutes but some Priests who can really talk extend it to 45 minutes
  • I have attended a 15-20 minutes Mass on a weekday at the Cathedral in Ilorin. Homily was for 5 minutes, there were many People to serve communion
  • Ahaha, you won’t even need a bodyguard, anyone who can survive in Australia can survive anywhere. We share one thing in common; the razor mouth and the Knife-sharp wit
  • I better not be your Guard on a Kayak because even I use a Guard tooNaija girl for life!
  • There are many trees in Inagbe. But unlike La Campagne, there are no trees around the beaches or pools of Inagbe, so, for trees, please go to La Campagne. Inagbe is great but you just have to check to be very sure and it’s not because it is so expensive but I guess because it is expensive and not accessible by land, many people avoid the place which makes some of the facilities to go into disrepair. December is a great time to visit Inagbe, though. Also, Inagbe is owned by one of the Foremost Kings of the Yoruba Kingdom; His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife; Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi
  • Badagry is very cheap and very beautiful an antique way. I avoid Badagry often times because the roads leading up there are very bad. The Government is fixing it though as it is one of the roads that take you out of Nigeria
  • No, No. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:  who told you about Danfos? Don’t go in a Danfo please!
  • Lagos is certainly not a Poverty-stricken place. A poor person here is probably a rich man elsewhere. Lagos is a very expensive city and everyone loves to come here because somehow they feel they can get rich quickly here. Lagos is a city of the rich, the newly rich, the hustlers, the Omo-oniles (if you found what danfo means, try and find this), the business people, factory workers, salaried workers and what not. It’s a melting pot of Nigerians, Multinationals, some of them expatriates and so many other people who have come to know this place as Home.

Finally, He praised me! But how will this last Paragraph make up for all what you have said, Adam @AdamGT ?

P.S.- Use that block style for your reply next time, I love it!

Hey! BABE.

There are 15 places and more listed in the post…is the first your favorite? That has the pool, a view.of the Beach? That’s La Campagne.

You will love La Campagne Falguni, it has everything you can possibly think of. There are very few dogs here but plenty of monkeys (which we are not permitted to feed) and Horses too.

@FalguniP

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :airplane:

Hmmmm

Weekday Masses are a Minimum of 30 minutes but some Priests who can really talk extend it to 45 minutes

Now that makes sense so thank you for explaining.

And this is a Shot outside the Church of Divine Mercy

I can’t see much of the Church but I like the pale pink color.

  • I have attended a 15-20 minutes Mass on a weekday. Homily was for 5 minutes, there were many People to serve communion

OK so they are very efficient services.

  • Ahaha, you won’t even need a bodyguard, anyone who can survive in Australia can survive anywhere. We share one thing in common. The razor mouth and the Knife-sharp wit

You know a lot about the land down under then. A razor mouth and the Knife-sharp wit. Oh not me!

I better not be your Guard on a Kayak because even I use a Guard too

Yes I saw this in your more recent photo!

This is a shot inside the Catholic Church of Di vine Mercy

I can’t properly see the statue of Our Lady because of the statue in front :disappointed:

Naija girl for life!

You really do like your water sports don’t you! How often do you go out on the water?

  • The Life Guard and I

I like the fact that the Life Guard is in full Nigerian colors. He seems happy too!

  • There are many trees in Inagbe. But unlike LA Campagne, there are no trees around the beaches or pools of Inagbe, so, for trees, please go to LA Campagne. Inagbe is great but you just have to check to be very sure and it’s not because either is so expensive but I guess because it is 'expensive and not accessible by land’s, many people avoid the place which makes some of the facilities to go into disrepair. December is a great time to visit Inagbe. Also it is owned by one of the Foremost Kings of the Yoruba Kingdom; His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife; Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi

As it is owned by one of the Foremost Kings of the Yoruba Kingdom; His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife; Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi then its facilities should not go into disrepair.

  • Badagry is very cheap and very beautiful an antique way. I avoid Babdagry often times because the roads leading up there are very bad. The Government is fixing it though as it is one of the roads that take you out of Nigeria

Why would the Government encourage leaving the country? Or is it that this will encourage people into the country via that way?

No, No. Who told you about Danfos? Don’t go in a Danfo please!

Ok, Ok, I hear you. No Danfo. It’s Uber or Limo

  • Lagos is certainly not a Poverty-stricken place. A poor person here is probably a rich man elsewhere. Lagos is a very expensive city and everyone loves to come here because somehow they feel they can get rich quickly here.

As I mentioned it was only an impression I had and your post had given me a totally different perception. Like many things, it’s all about what we are led to believe by the various media.

Finally, He praised me! But how will this last Paragraph make up for all what you have said

It’s just the first down payment

P.S.- Use that block style for your reply next time, I love it!

Oh I did consider it but then thought after reading some of the comments by others including those by @KamalHossenR , @RHoqueBD , I would only be making an already long post much, much longer so, hard as it was, I resisted that temptation.

Adam @AdamGT you know; I just wanted to add that; I don’t see Catholicism as a religion anymore, I see it as a Culture. I heard there are over 1 billion Catholics worldwide, I have also heard that there are about 7 billion people and more in the world meaning 1/7th of the world population is Catholic means Catholics can literally fill up one Continent!

What’s my point in all of these?

I am not so focused on religion! My religion is Love and I see religion as a vehicle that takes me to God.

So, I don’t see a reason to sit on a weekday to listen to Homily of more than 5 minutes?

If not because ‘The Word’ is new everyday and gives you a new meaning everytime you hear it… I MEAN! We have 3 cycles of Sunday Readings and 2 cycles for weekdays. I have attended Mass almost daily since I was 16. This means I have heard each of the readings at least once.

So, now, I attend Mass, more for the experience and to share in the communion and be a part of the community of God’s people giving praise and worshipping him than for anything else and this experience renews me, it makes me shine so brightly, makes me love and be lovable. :grinning: you are a witness to that but I know you will not agree.

I can say this much to you because you have told me you are a Christian so I believe you can relate and I thought that will satisfy you :unamused: :pensive: but I should have known, any opportunity to pick on me is always welcome by you :smirk: :expressionless: :walking_man:‍ :female_sign: :walking_man:‍ :female_sign: :walking_man:‍ :female_sign: @AdamGT

And now? I AM A STATUE? :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless:

Adam?! But why me?

Okay, at this point I need to beg. I am sorry for all the times I have offended you, I am calling a Truce.

No, the Church is not Pink, Adam. Look;

*Ensure you see nothing else in this photo, other than what I am showing you;*The Building :expressionless:

The Guard is in the colors of LA Campagne. Our Colors are Green and white not Green and Yellow. Yea, he was a very funny Guard too as he teased me a lot! I guess everyone who can tease find me a good target :pensive:

I agree with you about Inagbe. However, Inagbe is in Lagos, the King is now resident in his palace at Ile-Ife and traditions do not permit that a King stays away for too long from his Kingdom. This iss one of his many businesses which he managed before ascending the

throne of his Forefathers.

Lol! Adam that’s the border town except you are teasing again and saying the road is that bad because our Government doesn’t want us to leave.

Okay, a Limo for someone who loves to hike till he is all blistered out? No, a Bike you will get, Adam.

:grinning:

@AdamGT

You are so funny. at least you manage to make me really laugh.

@Ewaade_3A you took my comment wrongly and I wasn’t picking on you at all. I truly thought your sermons were short as my experience was more an hour. So thanks for explaining.

On a weekday?

You preach for an hour? you are a preacher? Wooow

Oh, I read again. Your experience. Wow! I could manage that if it’s a Sunday but it’s rare to find that here because we have so many Masses a day and the Mass time is generally 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes interval apart, so, if the homily lasts for 1 hour, there won’t be time for anything else.

Thanks for correcting me and sorry, I misunderstood @AdamGT
