Interesting data to further analyze @AdamGT .

In the dashboard of “Top 100 Photo Views Leaderboard,Level 9Local Guides (June 2023)”, only two contributions uploaded are from the year 2023 that too shares the same date as 2023-03-20. One from @SamanthaSheehy at #2 and the other one from @Kumaarsantosh at #41. The only closest recent past contribution is from @mbmuhlison at 13 on 2022-09-24.

Although I am the second from the bottom :grinning: in this list, I am happy that at least I was able to secure a place in your prestigious list.

Thank you.

JAI HO!!!

Hugs hugs for you @AdamGT … always admire all the dedicated and passionate work you’ve done here :tada: .

happy to join the list and I’m excited to contribute more as well!

I notice that in some of the star photos, there are shots with people on them. I’ve been trying to avoid that (although sometimes it’s just not that easy at all especially in a busy, popular place) but good to know that we can still submit it to Google Maps

@xmen123wood and @jackson it seems that you’ve been having a round-robin discussion on a few issues and sadly I’ve just been to busy to jump in and respond before now. However, it is important that I mention and encourage you to read The Five Core Values of Connect.

Now regarding participation on the leaderboards, the rules are spelt out in the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions which everyone will have read and agreed to when first registering for participation. Of course, because we each enter our own data using the T100 System, participation is very much based on honesty however, one of the requirements is that for full transparency, you agree to ensure that your Maps profile is at all times publicly visible. This means that anyone is able to check your profile and contribution stats should they wish too.

Regarding which day you choose to update your data, this is entirely up to you and believe me, in the scheme of things it really doesn’t make much difference because, as I have always said, the leaderboards are much more than just about rankings of Local Guides. And do you know something, it also really doesn’t matter if someone has more points or views than you or me as there are just so many factors that impact on these like when you started as a Local Guide, how frequently you guide, the country in which you are located and the opportunities there for guiding. We must also remember that this Local Guiding “business” is a hobby. We are all volunteers helping our communities. So yes there is a fun and friendly competitive side of the leaderboards but the best use of them is to record and monitor your own progress and through participation and sharing, we can all learn how we can improve on the outcomes we each achieve.

So to everyone that participates, enjoy, learn and have fun growing together as we improve our contributions and make the world a much happier and better place.

Thank you for your appreciation of the effort involved in creating and managing the leaderboards @xmen123wood . If we achieve the above mentioned objectives then the time and effort that goes into all this will be well worth it.

When we look at our Maps contributions objectively through data analysis as we are doing here @Kumaarsantosh , we have the opportunity to see things totally differently and through this, we can learn how to improve on the outcomes we achieve. The starting point for this is of course to just keep regularly updating our data using the purpose-built T100 System and then, as well as conveniently recording our data for us, we can use the system’s powerful in-built features to chart and analyze our data and the health of our Maps contributions.

Thank you @indahnuria for your kind words of appreciation and I’m pleased to hear that you are excited to contribute more. I have written before about taking photos in busy places and I have to say that my view is that as long as we are not infringing on anyone’s privacy, it is fine to include people in our frame of view and I have done this many times.

Hello Top 100 Local Guides

Some time ago someone, I think it was @MortenCopenhagen , asked me how is the star photo average views per day metric calculated. Like many things, this and my answer got buried in the hundreds of comments on the leaderboard posts so I have now explained this on the star photo readme.

The following comment will be of interest to all that use the T100 System’s advanced features, in particular, the star photo core vitals.

Background:

Some of us have only ever had one star photo, it’s had the most views from day one and is still the star! But then there are other Local Guides, like myself, that at some point in time one of our other photos takes the lead in terms of views and becomes the new star photo, a changing of the guards if you will. In my case for example, my star photo that I had when I first started studying stars, has been overtaken by two other photos, and I can see now, will soon be overtaken by yet another photo.

What’s happening:

To everyone who uses the T100 System’s advanced features, in particular, the star photo core vitals, to date the tables, charts and analysis in this section have covered each of your star photos to date. So, for example, in my case as described above, any one of the star photo core vitals in fact shows the growth in views of 3 and not 1 star photo! A negative of this is that the chart ends up covering too much of both a time span and data and this flattens the star views growth curve!

I plan to change this so that it only covers your current star photo which I think will give more clarity to the information provided here.

Perhaps a better idea is to also provide separate tables, charts and analysis of just our current star from the date that it first became the star! This way we avoid the flattening of the star views growth curve mentioned above!

@AdamGT I am not able to register. It says that the username exists in record but I have never registered. What could be the reason?

@AdamGT Hello.

I want to update my points

That’s good to hear @Saddam_1 . Use the T100 System to update your points and you should do this each month
