Has your star video gained any views throughout July?

I assume you mean August, as these are the August 2025 Leaderboards. This is my third and best performing Star Video to date, and the views increased by 60,601 between the end of July and the end of August. As I still track my previous two fallen Stars, one increased by only 2,036 and the other by ZERO (0).

Indeed good examples of where @tony_b There are of course other examples where the star video views of some Local Guides exceeds that of others at higher Local Guides levels. Included in this class are @RooksieN @TiffanyStockstill and @Rednewt74

Yes I did mean August @tony_b and I must say, relative to my star’s performance, your 60,601 increase is enviable.

Thanks for your comment @AbhijeetUniyal however, I would really appreciate it if you could hold back your enthusiasm to comment until the posting of all the leaderboards in the series is completed. From my end it’s difficult to prepare the individual leaderboards and then sequentially post them on Connect. It requires quite a bit of concentration on my part and seeing comments in the middle of the process is a major distraction. You’ll know when the post is at or near the end as after the final newbies leaderboard in the series, I usually add a comment to start the discussion. Yes I could start off by quickly posting the required number of placeholder comments and thereby reserve the space and sequence however in large posts like these, that requires over and above the already required huge effort to create these posts. Thank you for your understanding.

Well done on your video contributions @marcorp. Yes both @Annaelisa and @anon73568702 have made me aware of the duplication. It’s happened before but I’m now pleased to say that I think I’ve finally tracked it down and hopefully it will not happen again.

@AdamGT, I like to see the video rankings even thought they receive fewer updates and/or new participants. One of the main reason is that vídeos are “harder” to get than photos. We can shot dozens of them rather than videos.

I tend to agree with you on this @efcxp. I just find it much easier to snap a photo than shot even a short video,

But I can see Google step forward with videos and its popularity through internet by putting them always as 2nd position in POIs. It tends to increase the views comparing to the past.

Indeed placing videos at #2 position certainly gives the boost in terms of visibility and hence views.

@AdamGT Thank you very much for publishing my star video. It is still my best video and it continues to gain views. Now (09/09/2025) - it has 245,871 views. It’s a pity that it is difficult to find.

That fantastic to hear @Yulia_Tikhanycheva and 245,871 views as we speak is an awesome number. Regarding the difficulty to find it I assume you mean in the list of your contributions. Well there is a technique that we all use and you will see if documented on the Links section under the General menu of the Leaderboard System which brings me to your next point.

I thought I did all the necessary steps to register, but I did not receive an email with details on how to login to the Leaderboard System. Maybe you can help me with that? Something must have gone wrong, I’ll reread the instructions again Anyway, many thanks for your attention!

Oh I’m sorry to hear that and it’s a pity you haven’t mentioned it before. Anyway let’s see if we can solve this problem now. Firstly, if you enter an incorrect email when registering then the registration verification email will obviously be sent to that wrong address so you will never get it. So make sure you enter your correct email. Secondly, on just checking I see that you are not showing your Google Maps profile link on your Connect profile. This could also cause a problem. On the registration form you will see instructions on how to fix this.

So now I will have deleted your earlier registration attempt so use this link and have another go. Follow the steps carefully and especially checking the email address. Then wait a day or two and if you don’t receive the auto-response registration verification email with the startup guide then let me know.

I just had a quick look on the System and can see that you have successfully registered so well done you. That is big step forward and I’m tagging @Laurent as he registered at the same time and had similar issues as you.

I saw that you added your star video to the album back on June 8 but I cannot see the details on the Leaderboard System. However, it is possible that you have experienced the same issue reported by both @palmad1 and @anon73568702 (see comments above). Unfortunately I will not know until I have had a chance to investigate this issue. So stay tuned in for an update.

As is the case of star photos (see here), for those that have access to and use the auto generated star video history tables, the functionality of the Copy Star Views History Table button has been restored making it easier to update your Connect star video posts.

Maybe it’ll take a little bit or something is missed!

However if I could know something about how that specific email looks like it will help me have an mind on what to search.

Given that you re-registered at the same time as @Yulia_Tikhanycheva and she has received the email, then you too should have received the email by now. The email will have the subject Top 100 Local Guides Registration Verification. Search for that email and also check your spam folder. That failing, the only other possibility is that you have entered the wrong email when you registered and if that’s the case you will never receive the registration verification email. I have also just sent you a private message here on Connect with instructions. Please follow those instructions and let me know here when you have done so. If you don’t receive my PM then also let me know.
