Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Star Photos (March, 2026)

The cover photo is very beautiful and colorful. It looks like an AI creation. The Royal Palace photo by @Kumaarsantosh is a great choice.

Did you have any movement in your star photo numbers other than on the average views per day board(s)? If so, did your star’s average views per day icrease by any chance?

I am so sad to see my star photo views have not increased for many months, so my average views per day are going down.
Star photo views have not increased for many Local Guides for many months. It seems this may not change soon, and this makes the star photo feature less motivating. I think you may consider giving us the option to choose our own star photo for a year.

Thanks for the leaderboards as always @AdamGT This one is a bit disheartening.
My Star photo hasn’t moved since Aug/25 . Only one of my top 25 photos has moved since Sept./25

I still like my idea of a Yearly “Star photo” for this year. It would keep ALL us guides on a level playing field. It would mean a new leaderboard though. Looking into the future we could have a new yearly Star photo every year.

Almost forgot I took a screenshot of this months and last months top 10 Guide photos.

No changes in the top 10 either.

How would this work @PrasadVR? Are you thinking we would use the next highest viewed photo that’s actually seeing changes?

Looking into the future we could have a new yearly Star photo every year.

I wouldn’t like to change every year @TerryPG, as long as I can find one photo that’s getting monthly increased views. But of course it’s not so strange, as I’ve had to change my Star Video a few times whenever a different video rises to the top of the list and exceeds the numbers of the last previous star.

No. There’s no way to force your photo to get more views. As you continue to take newer and better photos, it is possible you might some day get a new one that rapidly gets more views than the one you have now.

Nada. However, I had lost the POI for a month, and then it reappeared with my photo intact. I was quite worried for a bit that my Star had been banished to Misfit Island.

@AdamGT my History Table has gone all wrong now but I don’t know what happened there. As I’m only VIP level 2, I guess I’ll have to work harder to get to access to the pro features including the Star Views table? Same with my Video History Table.
