Congrats on your feature photo @DustinBerg It’s a wonderful shot.
Thank you for featuring my photo Adam, We had revisited Ottawa the nations capital of Canada around 2000. Ottawa brings back great memories. I was transferred there with a promotion thru work. Ottawa was also where my daughter was born.
We visited on the July 1st national holiday representing Canada Day. That date celebrates when Canada became an independent country from Great Britain in 1867.
There was a great parade that day and the best fireworks display I have ever seen that night. We are still part of the Commonwealth. The guards in the photo were from The Governor Generals brigade representing Great Britain.
Thank you for sharing that background details about your photo @TerryPG. I actually thought you might have taken the shot on a trip to London. I so wish I had the details of each featured photo at the time posting as I believe that detail should be in the cover post rather than deep in the comments of the post. It’s coming, I just need time to implement this on the Leaderboard System.
My observation is that older photos with very high views have less chance of regularly showing a change in view count. Based on the 1% rule which we’ve previously spoken about, a photo with 218 million would struggle to regularly add another 2.2 million views per month. Also a photo from 2019 with over 19 million views is likely grown stale and not attracting 195,000 new views per month to qualify either. My own “red star” with 2,137,896 views needs 21,378 additional views to move up, but I already know it had dropped to just over 200 views per month before the display methodology changed.
In fact, writing my comment and watching the table, I was guessing the same @tony_b. I remember, the story of our star photos are similar: gaining a huge number of views within a short period of time and then too few to be updated for a long time …
Thanks for Mr @AdamGT for the topic, although I’m not listed I think should do my best for the next time ..
Hi Mr @TerryPG
Congratulations for your ranking and thanks fo the history on Canada and great Britain which is very instructive.. #LG
Hello @JustJake
Thanks for your patience. I’ve finally had a look at your average views per day and I think I’ve sorted the issue out and if so, congratulations on not only returning to the average views per day leaderboard but trumping it with an increased value so well done you.
Congrats on this. It has a lot of information in this photo, which i like. Makes the eye travel all around the image. Well done!
@AdamGT
Hrmm. I actually tried to fill out all the fields this time for my star photo, but at the very end on submit, it said required the appropriate url. I gave it the right url, but it failed over and over. I am so vad at this, but couldn’t figure it out /sigh.
