Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Photos (June, 2025)

Of the new participants this month we welcome those that made it onto the Photo Views leaderboards and just have a look at those heavy hitters. Well done guys! You rock the charts!

And of course a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to @shunsader who makes it into both the billion media and billion photo views clubs!

I see some Local Guides possibly missing from one or more of the boards…so please do the usual deep checking.

Currently, the top five Local Guides are featured on both Million Points and Level 10 Points Leaderboard. Would it be better to avoid repeating the same names in Level 10 Points Leaderboard? This way, five additional Local Guides would have the opportunity to be recognized on Level 10 Points Leaderboard.

@PrasadVR That wouldn’t look right. They quite correctly belong at the top of the Level 10 board. It would probably be better to forgo the Million Points board instead. As this is the Points Leaderboard, it goes without saying that the top overall LGs with millions of points are indeed LGs from the top of Level 10.

The problem is that if we delete the Local Guides having million points from the Level 10 board, then those that are listed at the top will be seen to be top level 10s so they should be included on the Level 10 board. We highlight these top achievers in separate boards and we also do this on other Leaderboard streams (e.g. Photo and Video views).

I agree @tony_b, it wouldn’t look right and your suggestions is a better one but we would need to do the same on the Photo and Video boards. I have thought about this before and thought that perhaps I could use different colors. You might recall on the old Connect platform I was able to add color bands on tables but unfortunately the new Connect doesn’t allow this.

Well I did give this some thought and have come up with the alternative shown on this month’s Top 100 Media Views and Top 100 Photo Views boards and have eliminated the previous Billion Photo Views board. The the Billion Photo Views Club still exists but is now incorporated within the Top 100 Photo Views board and similarly, we now have the new Billion Photo Views Club within the Top 100 Media Views board.

Yes this is a simple idea and you can think of it as having those who are knocking at the door to get onto the board at the bottom end, and those top achievers at the top end knocking the door at the top end of town. I’ve done this amalgamation this way, not to diminish the significance of the views achievement of the top Local Guides in any way, but to eliminate one board, meaning that there’s one less board to prepare and post, and one less board for everyone to check for accuracy. What do you think? Any suggestions for improving this new format?
