One of the fascinations we get by visiting places is when we learn about old stories and legends about certain landmarks. Continuing our visit to Sarawak, the largest state in Malaysia, which is located on the island of Borneo, we visiting Santubong National Park area (https://goo.gl/maps/p4zMGi85SyoJ2sAA7 ) . And the focal point for the national park is a small mountain, named Mount Santubong. (https://goo.gl/maps/zNgw4P5kw6uyh22Z8 )
The legend goes that in times of old, 2 villages, the Pasir Putih Village and the Pasir Kuning Village had a tensed relationship, and the King of heaven sent his 2 princesses (Princess Santubong, and Princess Sejinjang), each to one village to manage and keep in peace. After many years, peace was achieved and everyone lived in harmony. Only one day when a handsome prince (Prince Serapi) came to visit, rivalry started because both princesses fell in love with the prince. So after much fighting, the King of heaven turned the 2 princesses and the prince into 3 separate mountains far from each other. Mount Santubong remains the most famous among the 3.
