#TeamItaly - Wine - A joint between Art, Culture and Territory

Hello, @ErmesT

Thank you for sharing this excellent and informative post!

I love wine too. I think a way to enjoy wine is similar to enjoy coffee. And they are not only tasty but also have a great history and background.

Someday I want to drink wines in Italy:-) Thank you!

I can’t wait to meet you in Italy, @HiroyukiTakisawa , for a wine tasting day, like the one I had with @KarenVChin in Sonoma.

It can be an interesting experience

Australia have great wines too, co I hope you will be able to reach a good glass of wine ASAP ;-)

I think I might go a nice Irish whiskey tonight @ErmesT all of my bottles of red are nicely aged and I don’t want to open one without friends to help finish it before it oxidises.

@ErmesT I can confirm Australia has some very good wines, isn’t it @PaulPavlinovich ? Also if my preference of that region still stays on the Sauvignon Blanc from NZ … sorry :stuck_out_tongue:.

I’m sure @TheEagleEye would be pleased to know that you prefer NZ wine to AU wine @LuigiZ

@PaulPavlinovich @LuigiZ , as much as I like comments about NZ products such as Sauvignon Blanc, I’m not biased myself. I do agree that many people do enjoy Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. My wife enjoyed Cloudy Bay and Oyster Bay. I’m not much of a white wine drinker, I prefer red, and in the past many years since living away from New Zealand, have mainly had red wine from Chile, Italy, and France.

On my recent trip to UK and Ireland, I enjoyed tasting some good Whisky’s. My favourite was Bushmills Black Bush.

I see @TheEagleEye mentioned some nice names, actually one of my favorite is just the Cloudy Bay :stuck_out_tongue:, but I do like wines in general, also red and I do agree there are many good ones all around the world.

Btw you made a good choice about whiskey as well, I think @PaulPavlinovich likes that one too ? I do like the taste of the Oban, although the Bushmills is a very nice one. Also the Jura is a very good one I like.

Bushmills is indeed one of my preferred @LuigiZ we’ve finally got something in common brother from Australia’s Eastern most states @TheEagleEye

I cannot drink whiskey @LuigiZ , @PaulPavlinovich , @TheEagleEye , so I will not join you in this.

I cannot even smell it. I got drunk on whiskey when I was 25, and now I can’t even think of drinking it

Hey @Matt95Bassett , I was near to miss your reply…

Do you produce Cannonau? this is simply super great, one more reason to visit you.

Do you have a photo of the vine, or the vineyard? Harvest should be very close, isn’t it?

@LuigiZ - we got to get you snipping California reds - Cabs & Merlots - this November for your international wine education. :wine_glass:

CE (continuing education) credits are somethings one must continue to “learn” no matter what our age is. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Fantastic post @ErmesT ! I am thirsty! I always learn something new from your Connect post every time!

And with your personal tutelage, I have increased my Italian wine (red, Prosecco, and grappa) knowledge.

Cheers,

Karen

Hey @ErmesT no problem … yes we produce Cannonau, Nuragus and also a hybrid born from the natural union of these two. Unfortunately right now I have no photos of the vineyard and the vines but I have a photo of a special bottle produced by my uncle.

It dates back to the harvest of 2017 and has made this special label for my aunt’s wedding. At Meana Sardo we usually start picking grapes in October. Obviously there is never a precise date because depending on the climate and the state of the grapes we must adapt.

I’m like that with bourbon and chartreuse @ErmesT - once drank too much now can’t take it without bad and immediate side effects.

The Australian rum makers have been around a long time, but in recent times there have been new distillers doing gin and whiskey not to mention all the back yard people making their grappa.

Hi @ermest !

SuperPost full of Information about Italian Wines ???

I love all you wrote about what we can find in the labels.

In the past I prefered red wine, but from one year ago I am more fun of the white wine.

When I go to supermarkets and find some from your area, Treviso, I can´t resit and I buy one :)))

Thank you very much Ermes for adding the What do you know about the Jerez-XĂŠrez-Sherry Wine post to the list ?

It has been great to read the comments written ???. For example we have discover that you cannot smell the whisky or that @PaulPavlinovich can´t try bourbon and that @Matt95Bassett ´s family produces wine …

Cheers to all of you ?

Alejandra.

Hehe, @KarenVChin

You can do better

Someone in Treviso can screams, if you call Prosecco a bottle of Cartizze Superiore, even if technically the definition is correct.

Prosecco DOCG Superiore di Cartizze is one of top excellence of Italian wines. Wines that are produced on a very small area, with a very strong disciplinary.

A kind of enclaves, 107 hectares in a natural amphitheater, where the unique micro-climate creates the perfect conditions for the Glera vines

The satellite view is impressive. My dream is to be able to guide you, @FaridTDF and @AlejandraMaria in there, hopefully soon

Wow, all prosecco DOC, @AlejandraMaria

Great choice.

Next time we will tray a passage in the area, if we will be so fortunate to avoid the rain

Oh @ErmesT

When I drink red wine, I always prefer Italian wine. Especially Primitivo and wine from Toscany and Umbria!

In fact I never checked the different between DOP and IGP.

While in summer I prefer beer…
