I eating friend insects ( caelifera ) when I was young , but very old time maybe 15 years ago your post memorable thank you for sharing this post

Thanks @ogewuru for tagging me. I have seen it before though it’s not popular in my region. It is a special specie of termite very rich in protein.

Its very popular in the SE Nigeria quite a delicacy in soups.
I was amazed to know that Mexicans love termites too. An LG @Aura brought some from Mexico with locally made spirit to go with it. I think @KarenVChin and @Imperiospice had a taste?

@EmekaUlor – Mexico City @Aura brought us Connect Live 2018 attendees fried grasshoppers (or crickets) and Mezcal to snack on.
The taste was salty, grainy. Mexican (or certain Mexicans!) loves all kinds of insects to eat. I also know the Chinese and Thai have these fried delicacies (bugs!!) sold at their night markets. I have seen fired scorpions on a stick in both countries.
For some reason, alcohol and fried insects go together cuisine-wise. I guess “protein” is “a protein” in many languages. Or with the threat of famines, one eats what one needs to eat to live and survive back in historic times.
Question == Would you consider yourself “vegan” if you ate an insect? Or to be a true vegan, one cannot eat insects too?

I do not know if eating insects is considered “vegan”, but what I do know is that this this type of feeding is called Entomophagy and is practiced in 80% of the nations of the world. Here Wikipedia has interesting information about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entomophagy
