Just created my first local map but i think that using only app is stupid 'cause people like me works better at home, using a browser, creating and sharing it via web and not only via app.

If you glad to visit this local map, about a tipical ligurian street food (focaccia) and the best places when you can buy it, visit my first local map

Great idea, guys! Looking forward to the shared lists. Can you see them publicly (someone has a top 10, for instance, but you don’t know them) or only with specific people you’ve shared with?

@Corrie this is a great feature and I’m using this feature. it helps lot. thank for sharing this

@adolfi

I enjoyed the fact that you shared a list and I’m thankful you chose to share your experience as a guide :: to use the desktop would be amazing!

upon reading this it made me want to publicly announce how grateful I am for the application on the phone !

I don’t get to use a desktop (rarely jump on maybe 2 x week)

and to be frank my experience starting out on these forums with Android has been somewhat frustrating albiet the process of posting and sharinf weighs out the bad. the economic factors and good energy locals produce is worth exchange!

but using the browser on this forum on the phone learning the updates and launching an event for upcoming Map Your world all on this phone is…an experience!

thr forum just reloaded earlier hence err message anf now data is down so cant tag you! these are the woes of freedom. and ill take it

i have lots of lists but that will have to be later. cant wait to chek them out!

@CourtenayV I suppose that @adolfi should be me. I’m not young (over, over, #### not so over but over 50yo), i’m a net user from early '90 and i work better with a real keyb, a mouse, a very great IPS monitor (i’m looking for a new one, maybe a 27/28", for photo editing).

I like the phone app, but desktop (browser) GMaps hasn’t both “list of places” editing and viewing (i don’t see mine on my GMaps account on browser).

BTW dasktop way have My Maps included, that i can’t see on app version: astonished.

Because shoud be great, really great, that My Maps should trasferred on “list of places” and creating only one great map experience both app and desktop.

Hi everybody,

I just started my list…what a great idea! It’s a famous comedy club in Hermosa beach where Jay Leno performs regularly. We happened to be in the area a few years ago visiting family and I took these snaps of a famous Ferrari.

Cheers,

Zed star.

That,

Feature Request: “We love making lists, but we want to be able to share them with our friends and follow lists made by other Local Guides.”

When Local Guides got early access to create lists in Google Maps, you put together great content and gave us helpful feedback. We have good news for those of you who are eager to share lists with friends and family. That feature is starting to roll out today for Android and iOS users with the latest version of Maps.

Here’s how it works:

  • Open the Google Maps app
  • Search for a place you would like to add to a list, select it, and tap SAVE.
  • This opens a screen that allows you to add that location to an existing list, or create a new one.
  • After you add a place to your list, you’ll see a banner that says “See List.” You can either access the list from there, or find it in the side menu under “Your Places.”
  • Go one step further and tap the share button at the top of your list. Tapping it will generate a link that you can send via email, text or social channels.

Lists are viewable on mobile and desktop—and even offline. Next time you’re on a trip, download offline maps of the area in advance and you’ll be able to see all the places you’ve added to lists on the map itself.

What do you think? Leave your thoughts (and links to your new lists) in the comments below.

s great

That,s a great

Finally! Have been waiting for this for YEARS.
Any of these things in the product roadmap? I have so many ideas!

  • Icon designs and colors- Library of design choices, upload your own designs, or customize/build your own with premade options (i.e. cars for roadtrips, forks for dinner spots, etc.)
  • Simple way to share/embed on websites or blogs
  • Use existing app data to prepopulate potential lists- For example, the favorites list would pull from where you go often or all coffee shops that you reviewed as 4 or 5 starts would automatically create a “Favorite Coffee Shop” list…
  • A way to create slideshows/interactive presentations of maps and the ability add additional information such as photos from your reviews
    • (Perhaps an integration with Bambu for Slideshare…?)

I could go on forever…
