Its really Fun!
Thank you @SholaIB
hi ,
@SholaIB
The result of my few days’ work
Thank you for tagging me. However, I started using Road Mapper on October 1 and am still waiting for my first approval.
Hello @new.user
You don’t get approval E-mails like the usual roads on Google maps. Check on your dashboard. Approvals are daily for road mapper.
Cheers
Thank you for tagging me @SholaIB . I haven’t received any email as I just started in October 2025.
Very good @MdFerozKabir, but I’m curious about something. You seem to have much fewer kms than challenges. Are you drawing very short sections? I usually aim to get a km per challenge on average.
Thanks @tony_b for your opinion. Most of my road mapping is in the African region. In Africa, there are fewer localities, more open spaces, and fewer opportunities to add roads. Also, when adding roads, I give more importance to prominent roads where at least motorcycles can drive.
@tony_b @MdFerozKabir
I’ve only been using this for 2 days and am paying attention to any comments like these for some guidance
The instructions are really simple, but the sections of map we get are so different and I’m finding it hard to know what the heck I’m supposed to draw or not.
Most of the sections I see have no existing roads, but the guidance says only draw to connected places.
I’ve done many challenges where there are no existing roads in the section at all but have added up to 11 km of roads, but they connect to no existing roads, is that wasted time?
Draw only clear main roads only? But the sat images are such bad quality.
Enjoying working with it regardless : )
I think @SholaIB and @JustJake will give us some advice. Usually I skip the ones where there are no existing roads.
Hello @MdFerozKabir
If a challenge has no missing roads, should I still submit it?
Yes! If you believe that a challenge has no missing roads left to draw, then please submit it. This will also count towards your total challenges completed number. If the challenge is submitted but we determine on our end that the submitted challenge is incomplete and there actually are roads to map, then we will show the same challenge.
This is copied from Frequently asked questions on Road Mapper. Hope it answers your question.
Happy mapping

Hello @anon73568702
I laughed out really loud while reading your comment.
Most of our experience on adding roads on Google maps and on Road Mapper are all by trial and error. We don’t have proper instructions especially regarding certain complicated situations.
Nevertheless,keep trying and learning and catching fun. Most importantly ask questions and share your findings and knowledge with others.
Happy mapping
Cheers
