Reporting the latest results of my road editing efforts

@Sophia_Cambodia

Roads are the most technical part of our activities as local guides. Therefore it takes alot of time and patience.

One main tip is, make sure the road you are drawing is connected to an existing one.

The second tip is, the shorter the road the more chances of approvals.

Three, roads in the cities and it’s suburbs get quicker approvals than roads in the country sides.

There are lots of other tips you develope for yourself as you go on.

Follow these ones to start with and see how it goes.

The approvals are very erratic as you have seen on the different comments.

Hello @MarcoDavoli

TRAC 2026 is not very likely at this stage as you can see. Nevertheless let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

If approval rate is at 20% or even 30% how much target can we meet at that rate? Anyway the meet-up on the 12th Dec is a decision making one. We need to dialogue and decide. Please try to attend.

Perhaps we will need to reachout to the team as well and see what they can do to help us !!!

Happy mapping

For me this means wherever I get approvals, I draw more roads in the same area for more likely approvals. Easy to follow the links from Road Mapper approvals to Maps editor, but not quite as easy to follow Maps editor approvals to the same Maps editor area.

Thanks, but there’s no winter here. Our annual temperature range is from 21° to 31°C (70 to 87°F); it rarely drops below 18°C (65°F) even on the coldest nights.

Excellent yet easy to understand presentation @MortenCopenhagen
Though I don’t have access to Road Mapper platform, but the low approval rate for adding roads on Google Maps has been a constant challenge for all of us. Sadly, we get no official response from Google on this issue and it is disappointing. Thank you for taking out time and sharing this very detailed post

@MarcoDavoli I am so glad to hear from you, and those tips are very helpful. Points are important at this moment too ~ I am about to jump to Level 9

@SholaIB your tips add more value to whatever I learnt from the communities and others. Cambodia is not in the eligible country for road addition. Thus, cities are out of questions even I wanted to. At the moment, I am working at roads at countryside along the border with Vietnam and Thailand. Once I am at it, just want to keep going so I had very very long roads so maybe they are reasons why my edtions were not approved.

Good news, many are not accepted but I got two approved

Congratulations for the 2 roads @Sophia_Cambodia. Maybe more will come.

Hello @Port, we don’t know, if your Maps profile is restricted, because we (the other local guides in Connect), cannot see your profile. To change that, open the settings here in Connect, select Profile and make sure “Display my Google Maps profile link publicly” is selected:
