Haha @kasunaaa ! I think you are giving me a compliment, right? Yeah, I was mixed on the length of @ErmesT and my recap. But with all that went on, how much we covered, and all the great questions that attendees asked to Ermes and me and how active the chat was, I wanted to be sure everything was well documented for attendees like yourself could go back and review what was said or written.
Thanks for sharing your screenshots, your invite code, and have your name down for my next virtual meetups.
You’re welcome @Ewaade_3A . You are making me blush! Don’t worry about taking awhile to respond. I am not online here on Connect after Saturday (aka weekend). It’s important to be offline as much as to be online.
That is the cool thing about being a Local Guide and now a Crowdsourcer I don’t have all the answers; I always learn from others every time I am with a group of people.
Happy to read you have decided to download the Crowdsource app. There are many Nigeria Local Guides who have been longer and are more active Crowdsourcers than me and Ermes: @Sagir@U-royFelixA Both are Crowdsource influencers.
Hope to see you in my future VIRTUAL: Google Crowdsource Loving Local Guides meetups!
Thank you, @KarenVChin . Now I’m doing much more on sentiment evaluation because there are many differences in expression, especially when it involves perception. Well, can’t wait for July meet up!
Fue muy interesante participar de éste Meet-Up @KarenVChin@ErmesT muchas gracias por organizarlo. Gracias a todos los participantes también que ayudaron a despejar algunas dudas sobre el tema
Good for you @Marianis ! I personally can’t get into Sentiment Evaluation. I can’t easily distinguish at times. I do like Handwriting Recognition. I find that relaxing to do.
I am honored @Cecilita you enjoyed my L-O-N-G recap! LOL You and Team Argentina are very motivating.
@ErmesT and I are sad that you were not able to RSVP because of the 100 attendee cap. Next month, if you are still having the same issues please PM me.
I see you RSVP for this Saturday’s VIRTUAL: Clean the World Talk with Ermes. We are going to have fun, put Ermes in the interrogation seat and let him talk about his environmental passion project.
Muchas gracias @SilvyC for your good wishes and for attending. @ErmesT and I hope to see you again at the next VIRTUAL: Google Crowdsource Loving Local Guides meetup next month.
That’s awesome @DavidTito ! When you reach Level 10 in Crowdsource, you are eligible to be invited to exclusive Hangouts with the Google Crowdsource Team and educational topic Hangouts.
Thanks @KarenVChin and @ErmesT for this interesting post. May I also add some info? Since 2020, Google released an app for the bind, named “lookout by Google”: this app has 5 modi with which you can find info (you also can try it out as a seeing person). By contributing to #googlecrowdsource , you improve this app too. I still have another question: what is the relationship between google local guides =maps and #googlecrowdsource ? I understand a local guide for sure can contribute the same photo to both Google maps and crowdsource, but is there another relationship between the 2 programms? Thanks for the info.
Thanks for providing your thoughts on this post. Yes, Lookout by Google is a great app to have for the visually impaired.
Yes, there is a relationship between Local Guides/Google Maps and Google Crowdsource. What you upload to Maps it helps out Google Crowdsource. It helps teach machine learning through your photo contributions for example.
There are many Local Guides, including @ErmesT and me, who are very active in the Google Crowdsource community. Some Local Guides have combined the two with meet-ups on their own, both virtually and in-person.
I can’t provide photo’s to google maps, I’m blind myself and don’t know what I have in focus. But I’m thankfull to all contributors to crowdsource who contributed photo’s for smart camera, image capture or handwriting etc. because this helps to improve lookout by google. that I’m trying to use more frequently. The issue is, that I can’t check if I focus the camera correctly, as a born blind person I don’t know how vision and camera are working and I simply point the smartphone camera at something =hoping I have something in focus.
