We call this “Hallaka kobo” in Hausa language. It can be made with the groundnut whole or crushed or even granulated.
I had a home made one last week with the groundnut crushed. Unfortunately I didn’t take photos to share.
Hello @MrFreez
Wow that’s a good reply so happy to have your contributions to this post. I’m happy to know there is a name for it in Hausa as well. There has been at least about 10 different names for it in India.
Am not too sure about the whole one really in yoruba language but the crushed Peanut is called Sisi pelebe which means slim lady . I’ll really prefer that one to the whole Peanut one.
Greetings and hugs to you in Koko. I was in Amai and Iseleuku both in Delta state last year for a funeral. Hope you are good as always.
Happy guiding
Cheers
What an interesting name it has in yoruba sisi pelebe .
Thanks for asking brother, I am very well thank you.
Stay healthy and safe wherever you are @SholaIB
Hello Sir @SholaIB
A small word from me before starting my message sir you are not supposed to be here you are supposed to be the owner of a big hotel/factory (just kidding)
I eat jaggery once every week and also eat peanuts chikki, I didn’t know till now that peanuts chikki can be made at home. I will try it once at home.
In our country of India we call them by different names because there are many languages in our country of India and each state has a different language. Some names
Jaggery
Hindi : gud
Tamil : vellam
Kannada : Bella
Telugu : Bellam (It’s my language)
Peanuts
Hindi : moongaphalee
Tamil : Verkkatalai
Kannada : Kadalekayi
Telugu : VeruSanaga.
It is a collage photo with two sides of different item 1. jaggery 2. peanut chikki
I took this photo to post it.
The object is the same but the names are different by countries/states or by languages.
I ate these jaggery and peanut chikki a little while ago.
Sir, I have a doubt that you are a big chef in Nigeria, that’s why you are teaching us such good cooking.
Sir I request you to do more and more such delicious posts for us.
All The Best Sir.
Thank for liking my post. All the best
Thank you @Rakshi2
That’s a great addition to this post. Wow all these names and just one snack or sweet. Amazing !!!

Excellent recipe @SholaIB @ for what I’d consider one of the best ways to enjoy peanuts. My family loves these as they’re pretty popular in the Caribbean as well.
Of course, there are a ton of American renditions of candies that use a similar process for their versions of a peanut snack/bar (such as Payday) but I will always love and appreciate the simplicity of the homemade version.
It’s true even in India also. Although many types of ready made versions are available in the market, home made with jaggery sweetener is preferred and considered to be healthy and tasty
Nice Post, my dear friend @SholaIB ,
We do make this item, as explained by our @PrasadVR , @Rohan10 & @Kumaarsantosh , etc. in different shapes.
Of course, this is commercially available in different shapes & tastes.
Many add flavours like cardamom… etc… & tastes like ginger etc…
As mentioned by our Rohan, this is a very good food also.
Of course, in this part, Jaggery based “Chikki” is more popular.
Thanks for sharing this idea…
Regards
Ohh… Great, dear our friend @PrasadVR ,
Your valuable companionship with photos is very much appreciated - thanks…
I’m sure, many of us enjoyed your “Chikki” photo.

A 1000 bucks for your nice comment and explanation !!! So nice of you to explain in details and also a new name sort of. Peanut snack bar pay day etc.
yes I have an American colleague who loves this. Infact he inspired me to go for the homemade one. Anyways it didn’t even last at all. Am scared of making more
The Caribbean Island would be more or less African in ways so am not surprised it exists there. I have don’t workout much like you so eating them sweets only puts on the calories .
. I’m happy this post is as sweet as the real thing.
Thank you

Delicious Peanut Candy
Hello, @SholaIB . What a delicious post. It is also a kind of candy very popular here in Brazil. We call it here “pé-de-moleque” (literally “boy’s foot,” a crazy name, Lol). Thanks for sharing with us.
Appreciate & thank for your valuable companionship in our @SholaIB 's post.
But, if you don’t TAG, the other LG won’t get any “Notification” that you have responded to.
How to TAG: Simply by typing the symbol @ before the User Name of an LG (as I have done above, to you), you can send a notification (TAG) to the other member. Ex: if you need to TAG me, then type @ followed by TravellerG - then I will get a notification - for more details, click 'Here’.
