From his photo pan is of shop .

If you want sweet paan u have to tell shop keeper give Meetha paan ( sweet paan) with that you mouth does get red colour when u chew it but if they put Kattha (Catechu) in that you mouth will turn red.

In paan they add tobacco &Areca nut,Slaked lime ( Chuna) kattha (Catechu) rose petals or gulkand ( sweet rose petals) optional dry coconut powder, kesar all are put in betel leaf with that you mouth get red colour when u chew it .

Now days variation / fusion in paan has come in market. There price range from 50 -2000 Rs. Some time more than that.

In India you will get pan every where but kolkata & Banaras paan are very famous.

Dear @Muhammad_Usman ,

Yeah definitely I had the taste of paan and I do have it nearly once in 3 months after lunch, as it helps in proper digestion of food :innocent: . It’s popular in India, so much (especially in northern, eastern and Western parts) :yum:

There are varieties of paan which can be immensely prepared bringing out a variety of flavours.:bowl_with_spoon: :leaves:

Do taste it once!!

Below is a one shop near my home.

Do add some of your views and like it to promote local businesses.

What amazes me is that this Paan has lasted for a thousand years.

What are the ingredients used to make is Paan? Are the locally sourced or imported?

“Paan hey to Jahan hey” , We have more Pan shops in our city Karachi than any other food product. Especially if you are visiting any Memon Gujrati area, you can easily recognize this area by different styles of road & wall painting (by Paan Ki Peek) lollzzz

@Muhammad_Usman when ever you will be here next time, I thought many plans for you, but today I added some Pan Shops for you, where if you eat Paan, you will never forget the taste. That’s my promise.

Thanks for sharing such a delicious post

@Muhammad_Usman thank you for making paan the topic of your post.

I enjoyed reading through the comments and posts.

My mother is from Midnapur, my grandfather had paan growing farm. আমি বোরজে গিয়ে মিঠা পাতা তুলতাম। Pan needs a lot of tender loving care to grow. It has to be shaded, with climber support. In those days, they used pith or jute to create a boroj.

When I first got fresh pan leaves in USA, I remember how happy it made me. Now we get Kolkata and benarasi pan in the shops.

Eating a pan after a full Indian meal makes the meal complete…I don’t need a dessert any more.
