The “old” version of the email never had a translation problem, and what I reported is related to the “new style” email.
For sure we will continue to receive also the Old Style email for at least three other months, because the type of email that we receive is related to the date of the edit
Well, for me a “new fixed version” means an email completely in the right language, @MarcoDavoli . When they started to send the new style email, it was always with the date in the right language, so I didn’t understand what were you talking about.
So, we are aligned.
Waiting for the right email to come, hopefully soon
@JustJake Thanks for the tag. All of this email merging and “upgrading” seems to only bring negatives to the end users.
As I mentioned before the edits section deserves an update with filters. Filters such as the type of edit, date or number of views. This is a change that could actually help us in backtracking to the rejected edits and we would have a chance to redo them and overall help maps.
Hello @Lukas_1 , I agree with you your suggestion about filters. Such filters help all of us to use our time more effectively and contribute more meaningful road edits. Let’s be hopeful that the concerned authorities will consider our requests.
In my opinion, this is a very wrong change. All things got worse and we can no longer categorize emails and all are considered the same even if the date is different! I hope Google reverses this change.
I don’t know if it’s a bad change, @Amiran , or simply a badly made change, made hastily and released without the necessary checks.
I don’t mind the idea of a more concise email (if done well and with the necessary information).
On the other hand, I fear that those who really use Google Maps emails to filter, analyze and categorize their contributions are very few.
But I believe that those few are also the ones who drive many others, and act as a driving force to involve and guide a significant part of the community, so perhaps they should be taken into consideration
the link send me directly to the “lists of edit” page. On the map you’ll see only a PIN. Click on it and will appear a POI. You can zoom on the POI to reach you place.
See the small video recording I took just to show you this
Submitted at Send Product Feedback on 02-07-2024, below is only few: -
Issue no.1: your accepted edit email is writing that view your edit (in your profile page), for your information not all edits display there as i do more than 1000 edits par day as it collapse and also that is not synchronized with your emails, sometimes your emails comes late also. Sometime i do 2 or 3 edits in one POI/Business listings etc. i.e language edits sometimes your moderation system only accept one edit , how i can check that which was accepted, sometime i have to wait for second edit as your moderation system does not accept all edits , your innovation is for that persons who do only less than 10 edits per day not for peoples like me who have to do 1000 plus edits par day, due to your this innovation my edits will be incomplete or in denial mode
Issue No.2: Your moderation system some times accept the edits after few days, same times after months, if I do approximately 500 edits having same names for example government schools i.e. Government High School (G.H.S) and do corrections in regional languages and English languages if that had spelling mistakes or short names, most of the times your moderation system do not accept all edits, I get denials and I have to wait for some time to edit the balance, after your email how I will find which of the my edit is accepted
Issue No.3: Now Duplicate edits will remain duplicates, why? Ask your innovator, all duplicates edits has some type of spelling mistakes or they are in short names etc., do you think that, it is easy to find accepted edits now, if there was 3 duplicated what will happen?
Issue No.4: Your new innovation of email is not showing name of spam edits in emails
Issue No.5: Name of the edit should be in email header, as per earlier email system, now all emails coming under one email
Sure @Amiran From today, Google Maps emails related to edits have returned to those prior to July 1, 2024.
However I disagree with @VishalSaini , because this is not a fix, Google simply rolled back the old version of the email, 42 days after this report.
As I said “I like the new layout and (finally) the use of the same words that are used in Maps for the status of our edits”. For this reason I am very surprised that Google, instead of fixing the problems highlighted, has decided to return to the previous [old] email structure.
