My Places of Remembrance: January 27 - International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Hugs to you and Keith, @Erna_LaBeau

I agree with you, and I hope your words come true. Right now, I see little Love and Peace around the world, but I always hope that people can start thinking and stop looking at their neighbors as “different.”
If we all studied history a little, perhaps we would discover that we are all migrants, or children/grandchildren of migrants.
I discovered this during a visit to a place where I expected to discover something else, but not this: The Museum of Aviation located inside the Robins AFB, in Warner Robins (GA).
Inside the museum there is (or at least there was 25 years ago) a section dedicated to migrations, with maps explaining how Native Americans had moved across America over the centuries. Following food, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire for a better life.

The world grows and becomes better precisely because of these movements, thanks to the fact that you are in the US, @Katarina_Cibikova is in Belgium, @SoniaK is in Texas, and my ancestors moved from Austria to Italy two centuries ago.
During my visit to New York, I visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, two places that have always meant to me how migration, and a world without barriers, mean new lifeblood and vital energy.

I’ll write about Ellis Island soon; I wrote about the Statue of Liberty here: A day with Miss Liberty
