@Nyainurjanah you are humly welcome dear. That’s such a nostalgic feeling to recall them. I couldn’t think of it otherwise how lucky we were able to travel much in the old days. In the old days I love to keep notes which is available to only myself but now I can share so you can enjoy them too.

These trees are truly amazing @Sophia_Cambodia they almost look like some alien monsters that pray on temples. I think it’s great they allow these trees to do this and not cut them all down. Great pictures and info I hope one day to be able to see them in real life.

@Erik_van_den_Ham I agree with you, when I first saw them I was a bit of startled. They were like big snakes try to swallow things. Luckily, Angkor Wat is the protected landscape area so you can still see big trees around the Angkor Acheological park. Otherwise, some powerful people would cut them.

Mungkin ada ikatan emosional antara pohon dan pura sehingga terlihat sangat ber aura memikat dan magis.

Photo yang sangat unik untuk dinikmati.

So good to hear @Sophia_Cambodia that they are protected. Sometimes however they would say that the temples need to be protected and therefore the trees need to be removed.

I’ve been active in such a case with plants that grow at walls in the Netherlands. The Dutch wall flora contains a number of rare and protected species. Sometimes when they protect or renovate the walls of these places contractors will remove the plants.

@BijohnAdams I am glad to hear that. Please keep supporting, I will write until no one going to read that :slightly_smiling_face:

@Erik_van_den_Ham thank you. Well, APSARA has managed the area for many years. No new buildings or any sort of things or constructions are allowed in this area. Meaning, they have been protected the temples as well as trees or other things here - keep it the same, except making a better road. That’s one of the good thing having the APSARA. Also, the site has been the UNESCO heritage since 1992 so they dare not do anything to violate the monument.

@Erik_van_den_Ham and when the trees seem to post a threat to the temple, they would cut half of it and keep the root the same.

Good to hear @Sophia_Cambodia that is the way it should be done. Both are monuments and one of them is a living monument :deciduous_tree: .
