Mohatta Palace Museum

History of Mohatta Palace:

It was designed by Agha Ahmed Hussain in 1927. It was home of Shivratan Mohatta, who was a businessman. Mostly Shivratan came here to stay in Summer Season. That’s why it called Mohatta Palace. This famous place located in Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan which is near to sea side. The stones used in this palace came from Rajasthan, Jodhpur and Gizri.

This famous place is 18, 500sq ft. In which designed window with and have Nine(9) domes. One dome is in middle. Mohatta Palace is luxurious home with old building infrastructure. This palace have 3 floors (basement, ground floor and first floor). A beautiful terrace to stay and have a nice tea with someone. Here is also a hot and cold water system.

This tree give a beautiful look in whole palace. There also different tree but this is nearly in middle in entrance.

You have to pay Rs 30/- during entrance.

After partition between Pakistan and India and at the Independence of Pakistan 1947.Goverment of Pakistan acquired Mohatta Palace . Sindh Government of Pakistan a big donor in maintenance of this palace. This Mohatta Palace offers different activities for Local and International visitors. Mainly:

  • Exhibition
  • Public Events
  • Group Tour

Group of Schooling students came here to know the history of Mohatta Palace.

In the Mohatta Palace collection there are:

  2. Silk
  3. Symmetry
  4. Metal
  5. Cord
  6. Yarn
  7. Artificial Jewelry
  8. Stones

After discovering more about this Palace there are multiple rooms outside which was rest room for visitors . This was well organized with luxurious stones. Inside Mohatta Palace there is cultural and traditional textile and silk dresses which shows more beauty. Balochi, Rajasthani, Sindhi, Punjabi, Cholistani and different kind other dresses.

I really amazed that how beautiful and well organized palace in the city. I suggest local guiders to must came here to find more about history.
