Yes you are right, @Gezendunyali , as confirmed also by @LaloPadilla .
You can blur faces and plates with the “markup” feature.
I didn’t noticed the possibility (oops) because normally I try to avoid to have faces or plates in the photos

Even if you do a backup by default, the editing option should be available anyway, @MortenCopenhagen .
When an image is not editable, a message like the one shown by @NareshDarji (Editing is not supported for this image) should appear.
Can you share a screenshot of what appears by following the steps below?
You are welcome, @Stella2 , I hope you can use them (even if your contributions are always great already)
Hehe, @kasunaaa
Sometimes I think that Google Maps likes to keep some “hidden” surprise for us.
As I am curious, I like to try and click every single button in there, and to make tests.
The feature was posted by a Local Guide long time ago, because he wasn’t able to use it ![]()
So I wanted to try, and to learn how it works
Hehe, @PaulPavlinovich , the secret was hidden very well.
However, you can only edit photos that were taken with the same device, and only if stored “in the device”.
This is a quite big limitation, as you can do exactly the same with Google Photos App, editing also photos stored in Google Photos.
But from Google Maps of course you can skip a step
Great, @LaloPadilla
I am happy that is working fine again for you now.
You know, I was surprised by the fact that you will have to discover the feature by chance, as it is not mentioned in any document, or help page.
That’s right @ErmesT Its great that I can use it again, and it has been improved!
Not everyone taps the photo to see the preview, sometimes you just have to tap/clic everything to discover new stuff hahaha , talking about features, I still don’t have the photo views graph on the contribute tab that you shared previously, I don´t know if it has something to do with my region.
You are welcome @davidhyno .
I promise to write this post a couple of months ago, but I was waiting to see if Google was going to publish something… Apparently no, so I decided to move forward
Valuable tips and tricks @ErmesT I shared the post to my FACEBOOK page. Thank you.
The graph seems to be disappeared for everyone, @LaloPadilla
Unfortunately, as we don’t have an official post about that feature (mine is of course not official) I don’t know if I can complain
What a great tip, @ErmesT ! I had no idea this was here. I don’t often upload photos immediately and normally back them up to Google Photos and edit there. But in a pinch, I will use this feature to the max!

Hello all! I have been a local guide for quite a few years, but only just recently discovered the Connect community. So glad I did!
For my photo editing I use the Polish application. When I have used the photo editing tools on Google, some of the options are not available unless I upgrade.
Thank you so much @ErmesT for this post. I had no idea we had such an option,so I used to edit my photos in different app before adding them to Maps. Now it will be much easier! ![]()
I tried both ways @ErmesT but ending option is not available.
I normally use Snapseed for photo retouching when using my phone. Normally I take photos with my main camera and process them in LR.
Nice to know that there is a photo editing app within Google Map to use.
Silvy.
Hi again Mr Smart @ErmesT I’ve come back again to share my feedback . I use a
Mi 10 , Sam A71 and pixel 5 smartphones. This feature works only with my pixel 5 smartphone !.
I think it will be rolled out to all phones by time .
Thanks
Thanks for the feedback, @OSAMA_1
Hope it will be extended to all Android users, at least
Yes @ErmesT . When I saw others comments here that this feature is not working yet, I figured out that it needs time to work in all devices. As we know, pixel phones users get all features first ( before other phones ’ users ) .
You know what ! I believe it works in United States now
.
Like remember the ( Live View ) feature ?
It worked in United States before all countries . Now this what is happening now about this photo editor feature .
Thanks
