Thanks @TerryPG

OK let’s no rush it. I recall 360 spheres was slow at gaining traction and I think it was @LightRich who suggested let’s give it 3 months and then review it. Well I gave it til the end of that year before dropping it. So we’ll do the same with video. That should surely be enough time for it to take off. The important thing in the case of star videos is that regardless of the views, Local Guides update their views date. That’s just a 5 second task! GThis at least will properly record what is happening.

I don’t use a tablet so will leave it to others to comment on this Terry.

So what do you think is happening @tony_b and isn’t this what @TerryPG hinted about some time back?

Yes it’s not good! We’ve seen no movement many times before but regardless, the important thing is to still update your EOM views date. We need to record a true historical month-by-month picture of what is happening.

OK there you have it my recollection is right then @TerryPG and I mentioned this to @tony_b only a moment ago!

As always, thanks for your very kind words @TravellerG

Without putting it into words
I think what @AdamGT is saying:
is your full EOM tallies are required
to give a level playing field to all involved
This took me a while to absorb
PS I still update my star 360 pic
monthly even though the leaderboard
is no longer & it hasn’t gained views in
a long long time

PS @AdamGT the 2024 movers & shakers
was My own fault

Yes Terry, there was lots of talk about videos for a while now, but it wasn’t working for me. My upward trajectory started around November 2024.

I don’t know how to define the “what”, @AdamGT, but my start with videos was very slow. There were lots of zero views and low view counts. And the video views were ALWAYS lower than the photo views if I submitted both to a POI. Now in recent months, I get quite the opposite in some instances.

very interesting indeed,
I submitted a video years
ago, & on ST Patricks day
I took rather than going to
a pub to celebrate,
google it we not the best
anymore @ it.
I think it was a 4+ minute video
constrained into 30 seconds
allowed,
It’s gaining views nicely
A picture is one thing
trying to AI a video,
Who knows yet its outcome,
I defo thought 360 would
become somthing
@TerryPG

It’s important so that you have no gaps in your month-to-month history.

It’s excellent that you do as you never know we may bring them back one day if there is sufficient interest and participation activity. I just don’t want to waste time posting inactive boards

It’s not a problem at all - participate, learn and grow

I unfortunately think about our futures
All is looking rosey :rose:

Yes I can see that for many months your videos didn’t have any traction but seemed to take off in October 2023 and have continued increasing ever since.

Thanks for publishing this chart of my video contributions @AdamGT. The information available to me on the Top100 portal only goes back to January 2024, so I’ve created my own chart to better explain my point.

First point to note is that I only ever had two videos from November 2021 to April 2023. With the discussions about video becoming the new thing on Maps, I gradually started adding from May 2023 onwards, but I don’t have the view counts until January 2024.

My chart is a combo chart with a secondary axis for clarity. You can see that from May 2024 to October 2024, the rate at which my video views increased was disproportionate to the rate at which I was adding new videos. But from November 2024 the video views line on the graph has taken a sharp upward turn.

My observation is that recent videos have been gaining higher views more quickly, compared to last year when many were added which got no views or very small numbers.

LOVE this Leaderboard, @AdamGT, thank you.

I’m very surprised to have such a jump in my video views and decent average delta. I thought the average Delta would benefit from not having a huge number of videos, similar to @chiefzero, who had a HUGE delta. But I look at @Do_Quang_Chi, and he’s got a significant Delta with almost 3x the videos I do. That’s not to mention that heavy hitters like @jayasimha78 are getting double my average views with 30x the number of videos.

I just can’t tell if I need to trim my contributions or increase them

I accept being out-stoked
Way to go, @Peadar!

You’ve explained your observation nicely @tony_b and from what I can see, the video views in our charts at least over the common period between them appear to be in sync.
