Very frustrating indeed @zereal if the info on the map is wrong and your efforts to get it corrected seem to be neglected. In my experience it can take months before you hear anything or see any change, but more often than not there is indeed no reply at all. Iâm afraid thereâs not much we can do to remedy that.
One thing you could still try: reach out to local authorities to find out if they already participate in the Google Maps Content Partner program (https://contentpartners.maps.google.com/) - that could be a quicker way to get changes implemented.
Well @JulieAnnBrady glad you found it now
Somehow most people just seems to accept that whatever is displayed on Google Maps is the absolute truth, but clearly that is not always the case. Those extra medical facilities could have been added by mistake, or on purpose as part of some scam/spam (this case study has a clear example of that).
Anyway: if those facilities are clearly not there, just report them as âDoes not existâ (Itâs best not to use âPermanently closedâ, as the entry will then remain in the database).
@hussamzar Iâm afraid there is not really something we, local guides, can do about this. For some countries/regions edits to the maps are simply not allowed by Google.
So you are opne of those unfortunate people who often gets cold pizza becuase the driver couldnât find the address @L_cubed ⌠That is very frustrating indeed.
What you could still try to do is post about this on the Google Maps Help Community: https://support.google.com/maps/community/?hl=en&gpf=%23!categories%2Fmaps%2Fgoogle-maps

@EugeneKostylev I noticed your pictures with the sign in the window and there was also a review from another local guide saying the same thing, so I decided to give it a try myself⌠And my edit (Permanently closed) was accepted within seconds. You should see it as Closed latest tomorrow.
There is really no way to figure out which edits will be accepted and which will be rejected. My guess is that they implemented some kind of randomizer in the algorithm
Why on earth would you suspect that this is a duplicate @EugeneKostylev ???
Itâs actually quite tricky to get duplicates merged, but not impossible (read this case study if you want to find out more). In this case the problem might have been that the place name is not identical (which will trigger a âcomputer says noâ for sure). I have now suggested a few edits to make both entries identical, buit those are pending - in case they get approved (which may take weeks) another âDuplicateâ edit can be attempted.
@Salahmoses Greetings from Belgium to Alexandria - thanks for reaching out.
@JosephSA Iâm afraid we, local guides, canât do much to fix such map errors. My advice would be to post about this on the Google Maps Help Community forum
https://support.google.com/maps/community/?hl=en&gpf=%23!categories%2Fmaps%2Fgoogle-maps
The product experts there might be able to help and/or escalate the problem to the appropriate team.
Thanks @TerryPG . My inboxes have kinda exploded indeed. But also the visits on the podcast website have gone through the roof (+13.440% on Thursday
)
The last 3 hours I have been posting replies to comments on this main LGCTM post, but new comments keep coming in - and then thereâs still the private messages and the emails from the contact forms on my websites⌠Iâm not sure when the light at the end of the tunnel will show up
.
Youâre welcome @PraveenKumarTV

Great to hear that @banyarhongsarmon - all help is really appreciated.
Thank you @Salahmoses - highly appreciated.
@gchokola Iâm not sure I understand you correctly. Do you mean that, at some time of day, the streets are one-way in one direction and at another time of day one-way in the other direction? Iâm not sure that it is even possible to add that kind of info to Maps. Should that be the case, then the best thing to do will be to write a separate post about that here on Connect (in the âHow toâ section) and if possible add some pictures to illustrate the situation. It will be best to then also tag a Google moderator to make sure your request is noticed by the team.
I have been quite successful in using âMark as permanently closedâ module to get places removed from the map. There is one important thing to keep in mind, though: if you use âPermanently closedâ, the place will remain listed in the Maps database, but marked as closed - so if the place you want ot remove is really fake and was never there, itâs better to use âDoesnât existâ (which will cause it to be really deleted from the database).

@Rujul_Rumale in some places the situation is indeed pretty dramatic. But if you just start cleaning them one by one, things might improve pretty quickly and beofre you know you will be a local guide level 9 or even 10 - because every approved edit also brings you 5 points
