This is the photo with the most views I have currently in Google Maps. I took it on March 1, 2022 using my Android Smartphone (Samsung, probably an S20), and it shows the main plaza of the University of Lima, Peru . Behind the plaza, you can see two modern pavilions inaugurated around that time as part of a university expansion and modernization project.

Since December 2024, this video has been remaining to be my star. And the views continue to grow.

I took this video when wandering around Chinatown and popping in stores and bakeries just to feel the ambience and look at the variety of goods and foods. The funny animal desserts caught my eye, and I decided it’d be interesting and useful for map users to see them, too.
Redmi Note 9 Pro was my device as usual.

I made this video while visiting this restaurant for lunch on October 3, 2023 with my smartphone, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1-X00TD. I didn’t realize that this video had over 100,000 views even though it wasn’t my best video. The videos I upload on Google Maps are very few considering my smartphone’s ability to make videos. I took this panoramic right in the central point of Vésta Shopping, a charming and modern small shopping mall located in the coastal city of Torres, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Though really modest in size, Vésta Shopping stands out with its beautiful contemporary architecture and well-thought-out design. The space is clean, well-organized, and offers a relaxing atmosphere: perfect for a quick coffee, a light snack, or simply enjoying a peaceful break during your visit to this famous tourist beach town at South of Brazil.

This is now my 4th Star Video. In the last 24 months I added about 700 videos to get my Master Director Badge. I was hoping that this would see a significant increase in my overall video views. My previous Star Video of Vivary Park was taken over 4 years ago and is still showing a trickle of view increases. The new Star Video was taken 17 months ago and will hopefully maintain it’s momentum. However I am also hoping that many of the other images that I have uploaded more recently will also be competitive and drive up my video viewing figures. There are maybe about 10 videos that show recent activity and may manage to compete for the Star Video. These are not all from the recent submissions, so it remains to be seen whether some of the older videos can make surprising impact.

This image was one of many I took instead of actually visiting the normal tourist locations because the holiday didn’t run smoothly. One issue was that their was a G7 meeting which restricted some of the locations because of increased security. I had intended to take my 360 camera up onto the roof of the Duomo di Milano Cathedral - that was one of the locations that was closed off.

The video of The Ring of Bells is from July 2022. It has shown a recent jump in views and it will be interesting to see if it holds its own against the newer batch of uploaded viseos behind it.
