Hi @Nuga_72
That’s a great photo of the Mosque and thank you for sharing it with us. However, to participate on the Star Photos leaderboards, you need to follow the instructions on the data entry system and part of this is to post your star photo on the Local Guides, 2022 Star Photos post which was specifically created for this. You can think of it as a photo album of star photos and this is where you must add and maintain your star photo screenshot. You will also need to follow the instructions in that post regarding the format required. Please understand that with hundreds of participating Local Guides, all this is done to keep things consistent and better organized.
I will now move your Mosque photo there so you can read up on the requirements and edit your post to fit in with them. Once you’ve done that you will need to enter the details in the data entry system.
Thank You @AdamGT Saya akan memperbaikinya lagi , terimakasih atas masukkannya
Wow! That is sooo much better @Nuga_72 and you edited the old post rather than adding a new one as some often do, just perfect and it looks great. Just one minor thing to make it easier for me when selecting stars to feature
would you please move all the text that you now above the star screenshot to below it. Just leave one blank line above the screenshot. Thank you.
Ok Mr. @AdamGT I’m ready…thank you very much
Hello @AdamGT saya belum dapat menemukan link yang akan saya pindahkan ke system datanya… terimakasih
Thank you @AdamGT ,Now I understand how adding the star photo screenshot works and I’m looking forward to updating it in future…
Hi @Nuga_72
This is your star photo screenshot link:
and the way this system works is that all your star photo entries on the leaderboards will point to that screenshot so you and everyone else will always easily find it. This is why in future you will only ever update you star photo in that comment and not by adding another comment. Think of it like a photo album and this is your page in that photo album, and this is my page. So in future, if you need to update your star photo screenshot say for example your star photo attracts more views next month, well you:
- You visit your data entry system
- Update your star photo details
- Copy the caption that is automatically generated for you
- Visit your page in the photo album
- Select Edit Reply (think of this as editing your page in the photo album)
- Select the screenshot
- Select the pencil icon to Edit Image
- Select the X to delete the old screenshot, and
- Proceed to add the new screenshot and add the caption from step 3 above.
Simples!
So would you please now delete the second screenshot that you added as we all have only one page in the photo album! As well as deleting the screenshot, perhaps you could replace the words with a simple message along the lines “Now I understand how adding the star photo screenshot works and I’m looking forward to updating it in future”
Hopefully this is all clear now to you @Nuga_72 but if not, just ask as I’m here to help.
Thank you @AdamGT atas bantuannya, saya sangat senang sekali, terimakasih banyak
Ok thank you Mr @AdamGT …
Hello @Nuga_72
You and the error confused me. Other than the typing mistake in the message, the error message is correct. It should read “Your screenshot date must be on or after your star photo’s star date!” So let’s make sure this is clear:
- You take a photo of a POI and add it on to Maps.
- Some time in the future that photo becomes your photo having the most views. For simplicity, at that point in time we refer to this photo as:
(a) having become your star photo,
(b) it’s views as the star views,
(c) the date that you added that photo on to Maps as the star date. You can think of this as the birthdate of your star photo! - The star views grow over time.
- You take a screenshot showing the star views for the Star Photos Leaderboards and update your photo in the photo album of star photos!
So from this, you will appreciate that the screenshot date [step 4] is logically a date after the star date [step 2(c)].
Hoping this better explains this and helps you enter the correct dates.
Hola @AdamGT ! Aquí agrego mi foto con mas vistas.
Esta foto corresponde a “Dispositivo Detectar” (lugar para realizar hisopados para detección de COVID) en la Ciudad Auónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I have a new star photo and which has > 1 million views
I have updated my star photo ![]()
This is a screenshot of my new star photo. It’s Central Lawn of AIIMS main building, located in Ansari Nagar East, New Delhi and taken during my visit to Hospital during Sept 2022.
Hello @Alex_kezevadze
I see that you have a new star photo and your new one is fast approaching 1 MILLION views which is fantastic. However, you are not following the right procedure when updating your star photo which is going to cause you and everyone else interested in seeing your star, some problems because you now have two star photos in our photo album of star photos and the leaderboards will only point to one!!
When you update your star photo, for example when it’s views have increased or you get a new star photo as in your case, you do not go to the photo album of star photos and add a new comment with details of your updated or new star! Each one of us has one and only one place in the star photo album. Think of it as your special page in this photo album! If you get a new star well you go to that page remove the old photo and replace it with the new!!! Simple!!!
This is clearly detailed in the Updating your star photo steps here. You visit your old post and update the details there! Then you update your star photo details for the Top 100 Local Guide leaderboards here. This is the most efficient way and the best way to make sure that the star photos leaderboards can correctly point to your star photo! It also avoids the need for you to work out and add a new link for the leaderboards!
So how best to solve this problem! Well while not ideal I suggest the following:
- Visit your place in the photo album, delete the old star photo and add the new by following the procedure detailed in the Updating your star photo steps here.
- Update your star photo details for the Top 100 Local Guide leaderboards here and finally,
- Visit your comment here, delete everything and add words perhaps along the lines "I have a new star photo and I’m excited that it is fast approaching ONE MILLION views. I have updated my star photo here. " You can tag me if you wish!
Well done @Alex_kezevadze but don’t forget to update your caption ![]()
