@AdamGT Thanks for the heads up. I have been following this topic and it vexes me to no end. In fact it makes it may be the last straw in participating in this failing trusted/guide program. These so called engineers are fully capable of making it impossible to geotag regions, but for some reason they chose not to. I find view counts as one of the largest rewards for this volunteer work and tagging regions, countries and municipalities is the best way to achieve this. To suddenly hear this is a taboo on a par with posting nudity is a real buzzkill. So we’re not only required to purchase drive space to host images, shlepp around our cameras for content and stay current with all the regulatory fine print? No thanks.

- What do you think are the important factors that contribute to photo view stats?

Like you @dbateser , while we don’t get any points for view counts, I find photo views to be the greatest, if not one of the greatest, personal rewards from being a Local Guide and I’ve often written here on Connect that as keen photographers, Local Guides are proud when we see that our photos about a Place of Interest (a business, cafe, bar, restaurant, shop, park or airport etc), are being viewed and helpful to someone. However, broadly speaking, the role of guiding is to first rate the Place of Interest (POI), second review that POI and thirdly to add photos that help tell our story and support that rating and review. If we can’t rate and write a review for a place then any photos we add would be in limbo so to speak! I encourage you to submit another one of your top photos, perhaps that of the Newark Liberty International Airport, as your entry in this post.

- Here’s a screenshot of my star photo.
- The Maps Category of the place of my star photo: Currency exchange service. It shows the building photo.
- Date of my star photo: October 2019.
- This is not my best photo. It’s just an average photo compared to the others.
- I think it’s my star photo because I took it nicely and clearly showing the new face of the building after its renovation. It is a quite popular currency exchange service within the area and no one ever uploaded a photo update for this place.
- The important factors that contribute to photo view stats:
a) The popularity of the place
b) The quality of the photo (brightness, contrast, sharpness) - The camera I used to take my star photo: OPPO F1S

The main reason it become my “Star Photo” should be the location, i.e., it is not a hot location that people will visit, so not many photos has been taken for this location. Also the photo consists of many elements, e.g., sea and fishing village, contrast between low house and high building, and bridges behind. Different angle – the photo was taken by drone, so can see views that normal people cannot see. And of course, the fine weather.

For this particular review, it is not my best, but a better pic. – in my view, the best image of those uploaded to this review is the omelette.

Why my most viewed? Can’t say. Possibly because it shows a small sampling of what’s on offer in the way of food.

Important factors that contribute to photo view stats? Clear image content; sharp focusing; enticing viewpoint of the subject (in terms of the aesthetics of image design); usefulness of the information.

The last link you have provided is different to the previous link you provided but still not a link to your star photo (Al Rugaib Furniture) which is what I asked from you in my message. To solve this please provide a link to your photo or review of Al Rugaib Furniture. Here’s a screenshot of my star photo on the right page.! Don’t like this one personally, was randomly taken in Dec’16 while I was out to buy a bike for myself. Pic is an outside view of the Automobile Store in Noida, Uttar Pradesh - India. Has about a million odd views till now.
