La Pizza Napoletana!

Hi @Ambreen ,

I hope that you succeeded in tackling your midnight craving!

Very nice shot, the pizza looks delicious and can’t believe how you stopped everybody touching it to take the picture with the little door in background, actually I can because I do the same at every restaurant as a perfect LG hahaha … out of records how many shots you did ?

And now @DeniGu we want to see you Pizza places list, it should be a delicious list :yum:.

Hi @LuigiZ

Ya, in the end, I settled on a glass of milk

haha… so relatable, right? how many shots do you manage to capture? I take a minimum of 5 to 10 shots (out of this only 1 or 2 get published) and then I explore each and every space in the location to capture best of backgrounds. Many times the owners, staff, and people around also help me by holding my plate of delicious food or giving me more insights about the place

Oh but there are also places who don’t want you to write a review or take a picture and they put up signboards saying no photography allowed. The funny thing is it is mostly the 5-star hotels or upscale places (in terms of restaurants) because they only want to show the good things, the food served hardly matches their high ratings (i believe most of it is fake reviews). I still try to capture some moments during my business meetings.

Have you faced any restriction issues as a local guide to cover and write about a location?

Any solutions for that?

Looking forward to your next post

Regards

I’ll do my best to enrich my pizza list before sharing it, @Ambreen and @LuigiZ . Pizza is serious business!

It’s great that even the staff gets involved in the process of taking the best photos, @Ambreen . I occasionally get some suspicious looks, especially when I walk around the restaurant with the phone in my hand. But in the end, it’s all worth it when you know that your photos and reviews help others to make informed decisions.

As for stopping people from eating the food before you capture it, well, my friends are now well-used to that. Even if the food comes when I’m not at the table, they wait for me to come back, take a few photos, and then dig in!

Oh a glass of milk @Ambreen hehe let’s keep quite the stomach, good strategy :stuck_out_tongue:.

I do a lot as well, at least 3 or 4 of the same plate and then share the best one, same for the inside. Most of the times you get bad light on the dish according the room lighting and your seating and/or people inside the restaurant not well taken. I also do often walk in the restaurant to take the best shot of it but to be honest didn’t find yet somebody who really denied or restricted me to do so, even in business meetings I tell everybody I need to take a picture for the later review  … while looking at me in strange way definitely yes like @DeniGu .

Sometime instead I had the impression that somebody might have thinking that we were a group of professional food judges, something like Michelin star or similar hahaha, which is really funny .

Haha yes a glass a milk  @LuigiZ

I know that is so cool, celebrity feeling  @DeniGu @LuigiZ

But I guess after writing so many helpful reviews of different places and tasting so many dishes and experiencing so many places you do become kind of an expert

Even many of my friends ask me for suggestions and yes we do get those strange looks at the restaurant, they do feel we may be some expert journalist or food critics, luckily I am also a freelancer city insider with one of the local publication so it makes it easier for me to ask more quality questions.

@DeniGu yes dear totally agree with you, it’s all worth the effort  Oh, @DeniGu do we have like a verified Local Guides badges for guides who contribute really good high-quality content on the map? That would be helpful for people to spot genuine good reviews from all the clutter, people they can trust

In Mumbai, people are very friendly so I easily make alot of friends, but there are places we have permission issues because people report and post everything directly on Social media and make the smallest issue look big. Many businesses have a problem with that because that affects their sales. For me giving an honest opinion (based on facts) is extremely important and I have written about it in my reviews too

Yay! Stars Have a lovely weekend

We do have the ‘Expert Reviewer’ and ‘Expert Photographer’ badges, @Ambreen . They reflect the many valuable and impactful contributions Local Guides add on Google Maps. There are also the level badges based on points, too!

If you wish to suggest a new kind of badge, feel free to use the Idea Exchange. Make sure to include as many details as possible in your idea, such as what would be the criteria for awarding such badges, what would they look like, and so on. Popular ideas will be reviewed by Googlers and taken into consideration.

I’m not surprised people go to you for recommendations, you do have the expertise!

Thank you so much dear @DeniGu that’s is very motivating, I am learning every day

Oh ya, like many social media platforms use these verified badges which help us identify quality contributors who add high-quality content on that particular platform. I had an idea to replicate that similar concept on local guide with a Silver and Golden Star on Local Guide Badge which can show on the user’s icon without having to check their complete profile and earned badges. I will definitely use the Idea exchange platform to explain the idea in detail and how it can be helpful for the users. Thank you for your guidance  waiting for that Pizza post

Have a lovely day!

Take note in San Francisco’s North Beach (Little Italy) go with @Giuseppe75

Tony’s Pizza Napoletana

Tony is the first American and first non Neapolitan to win The Best Pizza Margherita at the World Pizza Cup In Naples.

Curious to know if you think Tony’s Margherita Pizza is that good. Personally, I love his pizzas. He also has a Pizza by the slice store next to his restaurant in North Beach too.

Cheers,

Karen

Mmm @LuigiZ , I love Neapolitan pizza. Thanks for sharing this!

I have only tried it here in Buenos Aires, but hopefully it was real as the owner of the place is Italian and won some prizes I believe. The place is called San Paolo.

I went there for one of my birthdays because I love it so much. I have never seen a double flavored pizza folded like that though.

Thank you very much @Jesi , appreciated!

I believe it is a good pizzeria, from the photos pizza looks like a real Neapolitan one … so for sure you had a very good one .

@LuigiZ those pizzas look serious my friend…must be delicious… In Peru there is a little group of italian immigrants and of course started their own businneses decades ago, most of them trattorias. I like pizza a lot and I think the last one I tried had anchovies on it… a bit salty but super good!
