On top of that I am thrilled to have been part of the 10Y Connect celebration party in New York earlier this month… aka the return of Connect Live! (The fantastic poster in the background was designed by @AdrianLunsong for that occasion)

What a wonderful and fun way to celebrate with this virtual photo booth, @Kristen_NYC! 
Usually, we point our cameras outward to capture the world around us—but in this special 10-year milestone moment, the camera turns toward us. It’s a chance to reflect and celebrate together, united through creativity and community.
For my photo, I posed upside down against a wall, wearing the Google Maps socks (which I have worn many a time while exploring for Maps) along with a shirt with the Maps logo and a handwritten sign taped to it that reads “Happy 10th Local Guides” in bright orange letters. 
I chose the upside-down pose because, to me, it symbolizes how this community has helped me see the world from new perspectives. And the socks- they represent that exploring we get to do Connect: discovering new places through shared stories, virtual trivia, and events. I’ve learned so much and met wonderful people from all over the world. 
My upside down selfie is also my quirky way of saying I’m head over heels with happiness for 10 amazing years of the Local Guides community. Sustaining this kind of growth, energy, and connection over a decade (and beyond!) is no small feat.
Here’s to 10 years and more!

As someone who loves to explore museums, discover history, capture moments, and help others — Local Guides has become more than just a platform; it’s a passion.
