Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and fillet gumbo

Thank you for your lovely words @Ewaade_3A . Yes, I do want my readers enjoy my travel posts as much as i did visiting the places. I try to explain why I liked the place or what made me feel the way I felt.

Bayous are basically small water bodies that are close to the coastal area, specifically Gulf coast. If I am not wrong, bayou is a Cajun French word. I learned about this word first when I listened to a very old song by Hank Williams and later also covered by The Carpenter, called “Jambalaya (on the bayou)”. The title of this post also influenced by the song. Now I love this song so much that if I am asked to sing a song for karaoke I end up singing this song all the time.

According to Legacy, the name Natchitoches came from the tribe with the same name that used to live in that area. I don’t think anybody knows anymore what it exactly means or the origin. You might be right. It could have been influenced by the French settlers as well. Who knows!
