How do you know, it was updating “correctly before”? In reality, Google never told us, what exactly they are counting and when the pages are updated.
What we do know, there was a big change on February 7, 2024 (13 months ago) when the displayed counts dropped suddenly, later, bey the end of March the started to increase slowly, but much slower than before. Many photo show views after several weeks or months or not all until today.
My personal opinion is, the number they showed us before that, were way to high or simply fantasy. But we will never know, since Google never told us any details.
