Indeed a great photo can be appealing to look at, but it can also be more than that. @Christina-NYC That’s why the saying goes “a picture is worth thousand words”. Thanks for this great piece full of hints I’ll give it a try soon.

Hello @Christina-NYC Madam,

These are very useful tips and like it very much.

I am attaching here a picture of human action which is taken by me in BangrishTaxi Stand of Surabaya, Java, Indonesia. A group of Tout is always present here who are forcing tourist to take a taxi using 3 times higher fare then Uber Taxi price. They are not ready to face the camera.

One could utilize storytelling in photography by who himself.

The most improtant thing is that why u take the picture in the moment:))

Cảm ơn Christina đã chia sẻ, tôi cũng rất thích được đi nhiều nơi để được chụp ảnh, nhưng thật tiếc là có ít thời gian và vấn đề khác nữa. Ý kiến của bạn rất tuyệt vời

This was taken on the 17 Mile Drive on the Monterey Peninsula near Carmel, California. Here is the only place in the world where the famed Monterey Cypress trees grow. They are very hearty trees but they are often found growing alone.

Another thing the California coast is famous for is fog or heavy overcast.

The story I was trying to tell was to stand alone against the elements, to be strong, yet supple in an unconventional way. I tried to convey this as a feeling. That time in my life was very stressful. I was losing everything material that was important to me or so I thought.

By the end of the year this was taken, my mother passed away, my girlfriend broke up with me, and my business had to close. Of course, I had no idea when I took this what the future held, but maybe my subconscious mind had a premonition?

Twisted but not broken. Growing sideways rather than up

What do you feel looking at this picture?
