How one Local Guide shows love for bubble tea shops on Google Maps

Hi @SholaIB

Thanks for the comment! Yes - Bubble Tea is usually served cold, but I invented amazing HOT boba tea recipes for winter too! Things often seen during winter time in the west such as Gingerbread, Spiced Cookie, Cinnamon Apple, etc. These and more are now consumed as part of a bubble tea menu in many countries! Hopefully you can try some soon. :grinning:
If you try a drink and don’t like it… go somewhere else and try something different. Each place creates their own recipes.

Hello @Kumaarsantosh
Thank you for the compliment!
I hope you are able to try the delicious drinks soon! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @rosanabtl

I have helped open two shops in Portugal now actually. Their drinks are really amazing!
Although bubble tea is not yet “main stream”, I bet if you look it up on Google Maps, you’ll be able to find one nearby.

I think best to start with a cold fruit tea, and then try a milk tea… and later when it’s colder, try it hot! :slightly_smiling_face:
All the best to you!

Hi @BudiFXW

Thanks for the comment!
I wonder if maybe it was the brand you didn’t connect with. I have traveled the world to many places trying bubble tea, and sometimes I find different regions and shops aren’t to my liking. Doesn’t mean they’re not tasty to others, but just not for me!
Don’t give up! Maybe one day soon you’ll sample one boba tea that you enjoy drinking.
Kind regards,

Hello @AdamGT

Thank you for sharing your pictures! I have too visited Taiwan (the birthplace of bubble tea) and I had an amazing time! They are also one of the first cultures to bring new trends to the marketplace for boba tea drinks. The beverages are always evolving and changing… now at such a rapid rate too!

I have visited a Ding Tea before (can’t recall which country) but The Tea Empire sounds fun!
Do you often review bubble tea shops and post pictures of the drinks when you visit?
Even if I don’t leave a review, I at least post some photos so others can see how the drinks look. To me, the pictures of how they look tells me a lot about how the drinks will probably taste!

Hello @PrasadVR

Thank you for the comment, and you are welcome too! Hopefully you will find some ice cold refreshing bubble tea soon to give it a try! It is both fruit and can be milky too! I have a lot of followers in India, so I understand tea is very popular there.

I enjoyed reading your reviews. It’s so nice that you take the time to leave reviews for businesses in your area. :innocent:

I wonder what would help the tea businesses to become 5-stars? Maybe the drinks didn’t taste good or you didn’t like the service? As a former business owner, if I saw a star rating less than 5-stars, I wanted to know how to improve. I would often look to customer feedback to help me improve my shop. :grinning:
For example, one time I received a review about a “watery tasting chocolate coconut” drink. So I asked more people and they agreed, but they just didn’t tell me. I didn’t know something was wrong with the recipe. So I improved that drink recipe and made it 10x better! :fire_engine:
Looking forward to chatting again soon.

Kind regards,

Hi @TorM
Thank you for the kind compliment! :innocent:

Yes - I remember how at Connect Live 2019 we all went for a bubble tea trip after the event in San Fransisco, didn’t we!? Some of the drinks were really good, but maybe not all of them were for everyone’s personal taste preferences :innocent: . Luckily we all got a seat because that shop was very busy and popular!
I’m sure you’ll be trying some bubble tea again soon!

Hi @indahnuria

I visited Malaysia in February and tried Palm Sugar for the first time in many bubble tea drinks! I thought the flavor would be similar to Taiwanese Black Sugar, but it was totally different! I have a new favorite sweetener for boba tea drinks now and I hope it becomes more popular around the world because it offers a unique sweetness and undertone.

I enjoy Durian occasionally when I’m visited SEA, and actually offered it for a limited time as a milk tea at my shops before… but it does tend to make me burp a lot! But if I recall correctly though, it is @AdrianLunsong favorite fruit!? :lemon: ‍:green_square:

By the way, myIndonesia travel plans were cancelled in 2020, but I hope to be able to visit within the next few years! :innocent:

Hi @CAAG1959

Wow! I am so surprised there are no bubble tea shops in your country, but you are right. I checked on Google Maps and I didn’t see any! :scream: Hopefully an expert for making the drinks will open a shop soon so you can try the delicious beverages! :bubble_tea: And also you can then add their shop too!

Hey @Velvel

Thank you for the kind comment! WOW - how time flies!!!

I re-read my re-cap from the event I wrote here. I think the online event you hosted brought a lot of value to so many different Local Guides around the world! Thank you for taking the time to host that event for everyone. :tada:

And thank you for having me on as a guest to share my views and opinions of leaving reviews for small businesses effectively.

I also enjoy drinking One-Zo. I first had it in Vietnam actually, but when I went back a few months ago, they were closed. :disappointed:
Then they opened a location in London, but when I visited recently it was closed (temporarily?)
I hope to drink them again soon! I especially enjoy their fresh in-house made tapioca pearls in different flavors such as Cactus and Matcha.
Chat again soon :wave:t3:

It sounds delicious @DeniGu ! I love how @TheRealKristin explores local shops and shares her experiences on Google Maps. Her reviews and photos help both the businesses and other customers. I’ll definitely try new bubble tea shop soon again and leave a review to support a small business in my city (Vevey, Switzerland) in that way.

Hi @TheRealKristin

Like you we had an amazing time during our visit to Taiwan soaking in the culture and lifestyle there. I mentionedDing Tea and The Tea Empire but there are others like machi machi. Like you Kristin, if I don’t leave a review I at least post photos for others to know something about the tea shop however I can definitely say that I am not as capable as you and able to tell how the drinks will most likely taste by looking at the photos :disappointed_relieved:

Hello. My first account on Google Maps has been restricted due to a repeated comment. I regret this and it will not happen again, but I want someone to help me lift the restriction so I can comment and contribute.

“Cheers to Kristin, the Bubble Tea Queen! Her passion for bubble tea and support for local businesses is inspiring.” @DeniGu
