@ErmesT That’s great, my friend. I’m so happy to hear that you’re all well and well, and especially that you’ve found such wonderful female veterinarians.
@ErmesT
I Don’t have. But I would love to have one.
In your photograph the collection of Maneki-neko (beckoning cat, a symbol of good luck and prosperity. Mostly seen on the temple.
Beautiful images, @anon73568702
Yes, young cats are pure energy. Mine normally run at full speed all around the house.
Then suddenly they run out of fuel and fall asleep
This is completely understandable. I’m lucky because, living in a rural area, I’ve found very honest and affordable vets. They know that the problem of abandoned cats is a serious one, so they tend to help those who care for them.
Every week we monitor Terry’s health with a phone call to the feline respiratory specialist. She has fallen in love with Terry and told us that if we can’t keep her, she won’t adopt her.
You know how much I love Nathan and Trixie, @Silvi , and how you take care of them.
Fully agree. Google Maps can be extremely helpful when you need to find a professional.
Yes, literally
Me encantó esa foto Ermes!
Estaba pensando ya que vives en un área rural tus gatos no se escapan? o tienes una cerca o algo especial para evitar que salgan y que algún depredador pueda entrar..
There are many predators in the area: foxes, martens, weasels, badgers, and sometimes I’ve heard wolves from afar.
The cats go out on leashes @Silvi , and behind the house they have an outdoor area, partly covered and partly on the lawn, completely fenced in, where they can roam. For the two older cats, I built a ladder to make it easier for them to reach the lawn.
Penny explores the outdoor area twice a day, accompanied by Antonella. During this time, when there are no tourists, the area is absolutely quiet, and sometimes she even wanders out onto the street.
Not even the snow can stop Penny, but when she comes back she sits down to rest in the armchair near the fireplace.
Beautiful kitty @ErmesT
@ErmesT and @AntonellaGr , thank you for saving that poor kitten abandoned by the others. The kitten was lucky to meet you.
What are your plans for the red fluffy cutie?
@ErmesT - having a pet is like having a child, but with unconditional love and no tantrums. They love you forever and see your as a rock star or K-pop idol (for the Gen Z Local Guides
).
As you know my luv bug, Miz M, is my shadow and going strong at 18 years young.
Here in the States, local counties have animal shelters where one can register their pet in case it gets lost. Also nationwide, one can get their dog or cat microchipped, where there are 3rd party companies that keep the owner’s contact information on file so that when a lost pet is taken to a veterinarian, they can scan to see if there is any owner information regarding the lost one in the nationwide database.
My old girl escaped twice in her life from our home when she was much younger. At times, she was gone for 3 hours. Drove and walked around the neighborhood looking for her. There is as an app called “NextDoor” where I have posted during these times so that my neighbors were alerted. Each time, Miz M comes home on her own and waits by the garage door.
After these experiences, I see how important it is to “tag.”
Besides using Google Maps, I hate to bring this up, Apple has “tags” where you can attach it to your bag, suitcase, or pet or love one with dementia. There are holders that keep the Apple Tag in place you can buy on Amazon.
Cheers,
Karen
The catio is awesome, I loved it! Penny is a truly adventure girl and spoiled too. ![]()
I’m realising now that I never responded to you, @PritishB , @YuliiaZa . I took a quite long break, sorry about that.
But this gives me the opportunity for an update.
First of all you have a wonderful cat, @PritishB , what is her/his name?
@YuliiaZa
Terry is our cat number 4 now. She’s growing, and she spend most of her time with Penny. Penny is very happy to have a younger sister
@ErmesT , I bet Penny is happy not to be the younget anymore, and also to have someone to play with.
