Dear @Ramsk , Local Guides currently cannot add or edit administrative boundaries, such as village polygons. This specific layer of Google Maps is managed directly by the Google Maps team using official data, so the tools to draw or edit borders are not available to us.
However, since you have the official government documents, here is the correct procedure to get the boundary updated:
- Visit the Help Community: Administrative data escalations are handled in the Google Maps Help Community rather than here on Local Guides Connect.
- Create a Detailed Post: Open a new thread there explaining the situation. Be sure to include the exact Google Maps link to the village in question.
- Provide Official Proof: Share your official government boundary documents. Keep in mind that direct links to publicly accessible official government directories or cartography portals are the most effective evidence. Standard screenshots of maps are sometimes rejected as they can be difficult for the team to verify.
- Use In-App Feedback: You can also use the “Send feedback” > “Report an error” option directly on Google Maps. However, the Help Community is often the most reliable route when you need to submit complex documentation for boundary issues.
The Product Experts in the support forum can review your documents and escalate the boundary request to the core mapping team.
Hope this helps you get the boundaries corrected!
Happy mapping,
