Firstly, Eid Mubarak (Eid Ul Fitr is celebrated today, in Bangalore).
Wish you a very happy & Blessed Eid Ul Fitr 1444 & the days to come.
Here in India also, people gather in mosques and will have special prayers and sermons.
Of course, sharing of food happens throughout the Ramadan month.
And, we all join together in Greetings and exchange of gifts with friends and families.
The usage of “Zakat ul Fitr” is new to us; many other customs look common, including some food you have mentioned.

Eid is always a memorable time, especially with family and our loved ones. Thank you for sharing my story here Zuhra and it’s mostly my sweet memories of the big day back home with my family. Here in New Zealand, we celebrated it with the Indonesian moslem community and our big family here

تبدا الاحتفال بالعيد من قبله ببضعه ايام حيث يقوم الناس بشراء الملابس الجديدة وشراء الحلوي واعداد الكعك والبسكوت والترمس
يأتي يوم العيد من السنة التطهر ولبس اللبس الجديد ونخرج لصلاة عيد الفطر ف المساجد والساحات بفصل الرجال عن السيدات
نؤدي صلاة العيد ونسمه بعدها الخطبة من ثم نبدا بالتهاني والتبريكات للاهل والاصدقاء والجيران وكل الناس
يتم توزيع كروت المعايدات والحلوي والشيكولاته علي الاطفال والكبار
يقوم بعض ما يسمون السادة الاشراف ومعهم الناس بانشاد المديح ووبداية الاحتفال بالعيد
كما يقوم البعض بتوزيع المشروبات الساخنة مثل (القرفة السادة /بلبن) (الشاي السادة /بلبن)
او مشروبات بادرة مثل الكولا والعصير
بعد مغادرة مكان الاحتفال تتجمع العائلة لتلقي التهاني علي بعضها الاخر ونقضي وقت ممتع وتناول وجبة الافطار بالبسكوت والكعك
ثم يرجع كل شخص الي منزله لتناول الغداء يكون عبارة عن سمك بلطي او سمك رنجة او فسيخ هو سمك مملح
وباليل نخرج للتنزه والاستمتاعفي الحدائق العامة والمولات والاريا كيدز

. indeed it was a great day for me and my family where we had our EID on Saturday, and more blessings with heavy Rains here in Kenya from that day or celebrations and we ended up indoors… Sorry for late reply it was due to difficulty in connectivity.
