Eating Great Food on the Cheap in Japan

When I decided to travel to Japan, I wanted two things.

Experience it in a Local way, trying to experience things I wouldn’t have access to in the US. To me this meant eating the foods that the Japanese eat daily. @YasumiKikuchi took that challenge and taught me something important.

Japan, even Tokyo during peak Cherry Blossom week, doesn’t have to be expensive! Quite opposite, with some good Lists from experts like Yasumi, you can easily eat food that is VERY CHEAP and yet still very good quality.

What Yasumi as a local would consider to be “medium” quality for a super fast Japanese traditional Business Man’s breakfast, I would consider to be “good” at the very least.

This shop is famous for Tachigui soba. This name refers to Japanese buckwheat noodles that you would eat quickly while standing. A quick meal on the way to the train and work!

This shop is open 24 hours a day.

450 yen = $4.03 US…it was enough for the two of us to share with the addition of a tempura shrimp - delicious!!!

And like many business in Japan, this one is CASH ONLY.

You can read my review on Google Maps here ----> Fuji Soba ~ Taito City, Tōkyō, Japan

Check out this post from @DORAMA detailing Japan’s famous beer EBISU !!! the beer museum !!! A perfect example of high quality experience for very little money! VERY CHEAP!

I’d love to hear more recommendations for Cheap Eats & Fun in Japan!

Hi @KimberlyAnnG

Thank you for introducing Japan’s everyday life! In Japan, living expenses are expensive for income. In addition, cheap food has developed due to the effects of long-term deflation. Ramen, Soba, udon, beef bowl, bento, Japanese curry, tonkatsu, Japanese-style set meal, and sushi can be eaten at around $ 5:ramen::curry::bento::sushi:!! Naturally the taste falls a bit, but you will probably feel it delicious:yum:!

It was a regret if you were interested in the Ebisu beer museum. I wondered if I could put it on the list. You can drink 500 ml of history guide and 2 glasses of beer for 500 yen. In addition, we also sell Japanese "Old style Oden":oden:
