This post is where you ask questions or comment on any one of the specific star photos in the Local Guides 2026 Album of Star Photos or star photos generally. Please do not add them in comments on the album post itself or in any of the previous year’s discussion posts. Such comments added there will be moved to this dedicated 2026 star photos discussion post.
We separate questions and general discussion on star photos from the album post to provide a much better and more enjoyable user experience when viewing the star photos in the album, especially on mobile devices.
Notes:
(a) If you are commenting on a specific Local Guide’s star photo in the album, then please also add a link to that star. Adding links to the subject star photo helps the reader follow your comments.
(b) If you ever believe that a post you’ve added to the Star Photo Album post needs to be deleted then rather than adding a lame comment like “this comment has been moved to the discussion post”, let any Connect Moderator know and it will be moved for you.
(c) For the same reason, do not add comments reserving your place in the album post by simply adding a one liner like “I will upload my star photo here soon” or “I’m reserving this place for my star photo”. If you’re not yet ready to add your star then please refrain from adding these lame comments in the album post. These will be moved to the discussion post.

I have filled everything and upon submission it shows this error and I have done about a dozen times which I spend almost an hour, Im disabled so I m not trying again
Sorry @brianforever but I’m still not understanding your problem. If I had the steps that you are taking I’d be able to sort it out for you. This is the star photo discussion post but can you confirm the problem you are having relates to your star photo or is it your star video? Is this a new star or are you updating an old star? At what point in the process are you having the problem?
it is okay, just realise I’m not the only one having problems using the confusing platform, so I will just leave it to protect my health as I have a stress disorder and it would just trigger it
@AdamGT my History Table has gone all wrong now but I don’t know what happened there. As I’m only VIP level 2, I guess I’ll have to work harder to get to access to the pro features including the Star Views table? The same with my Star Photos History Table.
@MarkAuchincloss I’ve moved your comment to the discussion post to keep the album nice and tidy. Once in a while I can jump in to rescue you but when I’m flat to the board I’ve just got to leave it in your hands.
That’s sad @MarkAuchincloss. I guess you’re aware the VIP Levels are dependent on your consistency in viewing and liking the Leaderboard posts by @AdamGT. I have a number of tags in my account which alert me to specific posts including any post by Adam, and any post referring to Leaderboards.
Hi @tony_b thanks for the advice. Yes I have them too but sometimes I’m completely snowed under with work as my clients don’t let me breathe! The Top100localguides used to have the links to click on to help you get up the ladder but this feature was removed.
Seems I’m not working hard enough then.
I peek at Connect a few times on my phone during my workday, and then there’s some dedicated focus on my computer at night. Hope you get back to VIP10 soon, as I felt really helpless the few times I dropped down to a lower level.
That’s not accurate @tony_b and @MarkAuchincloss. Reading the posts and engaging in the discussion as well as helping and supporting others by answering their questions on the Leaderboard posts is a better way to gain access to the advanced features. Without that, the considerable time and effort that goes into producing the Leaderboards is futile!
@AdamGT I know where your coming from, I’m impressed with your vigilance . You can’t say I’m not an engaging young gentleman ! I try my best. I’ve reached 10 before, let’s see if I can make a concerted effort in between my hectic schedules. @tony_b watch out I’ll catch you on roads!
