What an exciting challenge.

My family and I went to the famous Kachi Bhai, which is very popular in Dhaka, Bangladesh for its traditional Kachi. I had a very nice experience there. The taste was very good at the same time their service was good enough. Kachi is the emotion of every Bengali person. We have tried their Standard Kachi and took a short clip.

A Taste of Tradition: Sister-in-Law Hot Pot Restaurant in Xi’an, China

Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Sister-in-Law Hot Pot Restaurant in Xi’an, China, accompanied by six of my Chinese friends and one dear Moroccan friend. This memorable dining experience marked our first foray into the world of hot pot, immersing us in a rich tapestry of flavors and cultural exploration.

As we entered the bustling restaurant, the vibrant and lively atmosphere immediately caught our attention. The charming decor, reflecting the essence of Chinese culture, set the perfect stage for our culinary adventure.

Hot pot, a traditional Chinese dish, is all about shared experiences and communal bonding. The friendly staff guided us through the process, patiently explaining the nuances of the broth and the art of cooking various ingredients. We opted for a spicy Sichuan broth and a mild mushroom-based broth, both of which proved to be excellent choices.

The array of fresh ingredients placed before us was astounding - thinly sliced meats, an assortment of vibrant vegetables, handmade noodles, and an array of dipping sauces. The hot pot itself became a melting pot of flavors, allowing us to create our own delectable concoctions.

For me and my Moroccan friend, it was an introduction to a completely new gastronomic adventure. The blend of spices and the unique cooking style was a delightful discovery, adding an enriching layer to our cultural experiences in China.

What made the experience truly unforgettable was the laughter, chatter, and joy shared amongst friends from diverse backgrounds. It was heartwarming to see everyone enthusiastically trying new flavors and sharing stories around the hot pot.

Hi @SholaIB ,

Thank you for asking. It’s not mandatory to include audio in the video. You can take a video of whatever you think will be helpful to others and inspire them to visit the place.

Thank you very much for your support always, dear friend @NareshDarji Ji.

Though I could spot another video with 134,000 plus views, the one with 384,000 could not be traced back… Im so sorry for making the claim without a proper link… I have 1089 videos… I really forgot to record the POI of that video. So tracing is difficult… I saw it for sure… That is what I believe.

Once again, thanks for your kind words.

Thanks for sharing such an amazing challenge, @InaS ! I have been contributing videos to Google Maps ever since I noticed the feature and guess what? I have unlocked the Master Director badge recently.

We visited this restaurant in Rivonia and used my iPhone to create this portrait video which I published to the POI. I filmed about 4-5 short clips and merged them together. First, I captured the restaurant’s surroundings. I believe a video can convey the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant much better than photos or text alone.

Then I filmed the delicious dishes we tried. I tried to physically interact with the food on the video, to see the texture, portion size, how well the dish is cooked, and the freshness of ingredients. People can see not only what a particular dish looks like but also how it’s made and what sets it apart from other options.

We started with the chicken liver starter, which was priced at a reasonable R32 and came in a generous portion. It had a creamy base that set it apart from other options. In the video I shared, you can see its unique texture. We tried the mild version, which was tasty, but next time, we’ll go for the hot one.

We also tried the 6 small prawns which were larger than expected. I was expecting a more dry version but it came in a creamy sauce which has a unique flavour. A Portuguese base with a slight Indian flavor. I liked the taste of home from this dish. Had this in hot and it was a good heat. Just enough so you get an actual flavor and not just burn. It was served with rice which was great to sop up all that sauce.

The chicken wings were also saucy. Personally, I prefer sticky wings or crispy wings. These were OK. I also prefer my wings cut into 2. The wings are served whole which can be quite messy getting stuck in to break them apart.

They offer prawns, burgers, chicken, and even salads, but the real highlight for us was the Vaflaki! These mini waffles with toppings were the perfect way to finish our meal. I had to crop out the Vaflaki from the video because I didn’t want the video to exceed 10 seconds.
