Celebrating International Museum Day at the ♿ Fully Accessible KMSKA Antwerp Museum Belgium 🇧🇪

@Katarina_Cibikova I’m also a big fan of museums and in Belgium, KMSKA is most definitely my favorite one.

When traveling I also try to visit one or a few museums in every city. During my recent trip to Dublin e.g. I took the time to visit the National Gallery. I especially love taking pictures of beautiful paintings, and then later use the tools available in Google Photos to make the painting fit the frame perfectly. Below are some examples from Dublin (Monet, Caravaggio and Vermeer).

wow  @Katarina_Cibikova firstly, thanks for the tag! And wow, those pictures are really great. They’re so lovely that I ended up just admiring them and only skimmed through the article quickly

Such a beautiful place, being well-equipped and accessible makes it even more special.

Kudos to you for consistently highlighting accessibility in your posts :ok_hand:

btw, did you take all those pictures? I’d love to know what device you used. They’re such high-quality shots! I’m planning to get a new device for photography and video myself, but I’m a bit confused with so many options on the market

Happy International Museum Day :star_struck:
Thank you for sharing with many beautiful pictures and narration @Katarina_Cibikova KMSKA - Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp is indeed so grand, luxury, and amazing!

Although I’m not a type of museum and art person, but when I am being asked to visit a muesum, I promise I’ll do :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Do you know who he is?

I met this work of art when visiting The Broad, a modern art museum in LA.

I am so happy that my post and pictures from KMSKA inspired you, even though you are not usually a museum person. That is the best compliment I could receive!

Yes, I know who he is! That is the famous sculpture of Michael Jackson and his chimpanzee Bubbles by Jeff Koons. It looks very unique!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, @SwetaDhondoo!

I am really happy that you enjoyed the pictures so much.
Yes, I took all those photos myself! I used my iPhone 15 Pro Max to take them. It is very handy and captures details quite nicely, which helps a lot when you want to show accessibility features.

I completely understand that choosing a new device can be confusing with so many options out there. Good luck with finding the perfect one for your photography!

Greetings to beautiful Mauritius!

That is wonderful to hear, @TravellerG!

It is great that you have already visited Belgium before. If you ever decide to plan another trip here with your family, please let me know.
It would be an absolute pleasure to meet you in person and explore these beautiful places together!

Wow @Katarina_Cibikova!
what an absolutely breathtaking post!
Happy International Museum Day! :classical_building::sparkles:

Your passion and emotion shine through every single word, and you’ve managed to capture the exact magic of how art can touch the soul. The way you described the architectural contrast, stepping from the neoclassical grand entrance straight into that vibrant, futuristic white gallery, sounds like a visual dream. That optical corridor looks incredible!

As a fellow Local Guide, I especially love that you highlighted the accessibility features. Seeing a massive, historic institution undergo a decade long renovation and emerge completely barrier free is so incredibly moving. You are spot on: true art should belong to everyone, without barriers, and highlighting that makes your review and post so valuable to the global community.

Thank you for sharing this masterpiece of a post, for the excellent tips, and for linking your Google Maps review. Antwerp and the KMSKA just jumped right into my travel bucket list! :artist_palette::backpack:

Cheers,
Joni
