Being indoors has made us all realise just how great the great outdoors are. And perhaps this Earth Da, how we should be a little kinder to our home planet. Here’s how you staying at home during the coronovirus is helping our planet heal.
wow i love that compost video! Ever since I visited Boulder, CO I’ve wanted to do home compost and just blew my mind to see it is actually doable and super easy to do compost at home. Thanks for sharing, feels like I just found the good people Youtube via Local Guides Connect. C:
I enjoyed your playlist and in particular, the Water Saving Self Watering Planter for Indoor Flower Garden Using Plastic Bottles//GREEN PLANTS youtube veideo. Sadly, with our current COVID-19 lockdown, we weren’t in a position to do much but I can say that we used 0 litres of petrol today and by this, we had minimal impact on climate change. I also sent links to your playlist to my friends.
@KatieMcBroom I spent part of day with other Local guides online on World Earth day organized by @Sagir . It was a great one and we shared ideas and tips to make the the Earth a better place as there is no planet B. shopping wisely, cleaning the Community, recycling waste products, conserve water( close tap when you are brushing) and energy( turn the light off when not in use and use a florescent bulb), plant a tree, were all part of the tips we discussed.
Hello @KatieMcBroom well, I did many activities and work around my house, it’s either inside the house ( in the kitchen ) or out, all can be spending a great time in the Earth day. I did my back yards and front yards with a lot of planting variation of vegetables like pepper, tomatoes, Cauliflower, and beans. I also kept coordinating the lemons trees behind my house and watching their beautiful blossoms.
A collage of photos show a coordinated planted yard with a vegetarian, and olive trees on the right. A lemons’ leaves tree branch on the left. A lemon blossom on the top right, and a pack of lemons on the branch on the tree. By LG @OSAMA1 @
Thanks a lot @KatieMcBroom for sharing information and tips … awareness is getting better and better all across the world and hopefully once stability comes back our mindsets will be more alligned towards protecting the environment! Let´s go!!!
So nice topic @KatieMcBroom The World is going recycling himself now its our term to made our lovely world more safe for everyone , I am loving & more cheering after read this topic!
I made LINE ART with my GEL PENS to celebrate EARTH DAY! My drawing simulates how natures blends in with the backgrounds, so we dont always see what is the obvious, white elephant in the room! It kind of reminds me of the game BREAK OUT, where you had the little paddle to chase the ball, and it broke the ceiling until all you had was a ball, bouncing around all the sides! This is also a good visualization of how ASTEROIDS, COMETS, PLANETS and GALAXIES rotate around in our solar system and in space! While I am making my LINE ART, I am feeling like I am a SPACE ROCK, in ORBIT in our SOLAR SYSTEM, where the PATH is NOT PERFECT, and the consequences could be catastropic, in colliding with another space rock, adding to the debris field of junk floating around in space! With the positive side, we see beautiful lights in the night sky, with the NORTHERN LIGHTS, and stars glistening across the DEEP BLUE SPACE of our atmosphere! Colliding COMETS, bring us RAIN! May the SPACE FORCE of FOURTHS BE WITH YOU! WHAT IS YOUR SPACE!? WHAT IS YOUR LINE?
Have any of you ever lived, near a large amount of trees, forrest, that was cut down, for houses to be built, then became very depressed, sad, because you felt like a part of your soul, had been stripped away, feeling a connection to the trees? The more that were cut down, the worse the pain got? Like an energy of anger, was being released out of the ground, the more the land was destroyed, the more angry the earth got? As tho you yourself, could feel the pain of the trees being ripped out of the ground! The pain of the wildlife, you watched the machines destroy the nesting grounds of mamas babies being killed, by destroying homes of living organism wildlife? Has anyone experienced something similar? One thing I will say, is if you have a connection to the earth, never move to an active housing development, where trees will be removed, because it will destroy your spirit, connection and peace you had with the earth, trees, your surroundings you grew to love, forming a natural, spiritual bond, many don’t understand!
